Happy Birthday Erica!

Hello!!

Happy last day of September!  :(  Kinda sad that's it's already over, but looking forward to October.  Before welcoming in October I wanted to share this birthday card I made for my co-worker who is celebrating her bday today!  Here's the card I made for her...

I can't believe I made this card!!  I have to say it's something I would never have come up with if I hadn't just finished making a similar card with a similar layout over the weekend.  I'll share that card tomorrow.  This is one of those cards you just look at and smile.  I smiled a lot when I was done.

The papers are from Prima Marketing and the solid colored papers are from Neenah & Recollections.  I used dies from La-La Land Crafts & MFT.  Love the dies from these two companies!  The flowers are from Petaloo and were pretty with the colors on the card.  The image is So Hip Anya and she is one  of the SSSC from TGF.  I gave her a little bit of an alteration, but just a tiny one because my friend has short hair not long, so the ponytail has disappeared.

I don't normally add an inside but this time I did.

Pretty and simple.  Well I hope you're all doing well and getting in some crafty time.  I'm so behind on a couple swaps that I'll be burning the midnight oil for a few days.  The hard part is trying to come up with something for my swap partners!!  Wish me luck!  Take care and thanks for stopping by!!

LFF #95 - Dancing in the Rain Marci card

Hi!

Today for Lilo's Fun Friday, #95, I wanted to share one of my completed projects from the La-La Land Club kits.  This card/kit is from the March project kit.  I think I gravitated to this set because I'm wishing for rain to help with the heat here in LA.  Hoping that Dancing in the Rain Marci will help make my wish come true...

I used several items from the March club kit for this card including the raindrops background, Rainy Day Marci, and the clouds.  I ended up paper piecing her whole outfit and umbrella.  The rest was colored with Copics.  After fun-cutting her out I popped her on to the card and following Irina's instructions finished off the card.  Below is what she did on the inside so I mimicked the inside as well...

I did pull out a couple MFT and Lawn Fawn stitched dies to give the card more details.  The inside could be used for the outside and vice-versa.  I really love the details on the umbrella and the clouds.  A nice addition to my card stash.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, hope you have a great weekend and Aloha Friday!!

Hugs,
Lilo

TBT - Happy Birthday Henry!

Hello!!

This should be a short post.  Last week we celebrated my co-worker's birthday.  Here's the birthday card I made for him:

Had fun creating this very happy celebratory card for him.  I love the background and the balloons.  I colored over this Oliver using Copics from what it was to what it is now.  Love how Copics can do that for any image.  I replaced the present with a cupcake.  The dp in the back panel is from a Colorbok paper pad and I thought I'd jazz up the other panel using some stamps and happy fun colors to make it look seamless.  Can you tell?  The balloons are from a Tiddly Inks clear stamp set and the sentiment is from my stash, sorry can't think of the stamp company right now.

Ok, hope you're having a great Throwback Thursday!!  One more day till the weekend...  Thanks for stopping by!

Have a sweet day Kathy!

Hello!

Hope you're all having a great Sunday.  It's another hot day in LA so I think I'll stay in and play with some stamps and paper.  Hope you're doing something fun as well.

Here's a card I made for Kathy who celebrated her birthday last week.  (Yay to September babies!)

The main image I used is Dollie with Cupcake and the cupcake from The Greeting Farm which is part of the Dollie with Cupcake set.  I had thought to just do a simple plain white background, but as I started to stamp the cupcakes I just kept going.  I used small hearts & some blueprint dies from MFT, ribbon/twine from my stash and that sweet sentiment from AmyR.  The colors are some of Kathy's favorites, mine too, so I was really please with how it turned out.

In this shot you can see that I sprayed on some shimmer mist, makes the image and paper shimmer in light.  I also used my Wink of Stella pen on a few of the cupcakes for even more glittery fun which you can see better IRL.

I stamped something on the inside, it's always fun to add something fun to the inside too.

Dollie with Cupcake
Can't say too much more about this card so I'll sign off for now.  Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and thank you so much for stopping by!

LFF #94 - Just a Note...

Hello!

Happy Friday!

School has started in full force in our neck of the woods, so I picked this back-to-school card featuring the adorably cute Poppy from the SSSC #17 for today's Lilo's Fun Friday.

I had fun putting this one together.  Mainly because I've been wanting to use that MFT lunchbox since I bought it.  Of course the second reason was Poppy (SSSC #17).  She is too cute!  Reminds me of Abby from NCIS.  The dp is really old and I was happy to cut in to it.  I kept the layout pretty simple, going with layers of the different patterned papers.  I colored Poppy with Copics fun cut her and popped her on to the card.  The sentiments are MFT letters and an older AmyR sentiment stamp.  And that's pretty much it.  I don't always decorate the inside, but I did for this card...

Stamping Poppy and adding a handwritten sentiment seemed to complete the card.  Now to find someone to give it to...

Hoping you have a great day and weekend!!  Mahalo for stopping by!!

TBT - A Cheeky Rockabilly Frame

Hello!

I've missed a few TBTs so today I'm jumping back in to it with this project I never shared, an altered frame with an oldie TGF image.

Sorry, I don't have many details to share since this was made a few years ago; all I can say is that I loved that paper so I used it to alter this $1 frame.  hahaha!  Can't recall the paper company because I got this from one of my crafty buddies, Kathy Dinh.  But I can say that the stamped image is from The Greeting Farm, Cheeky Rockabilly.  Remember those Cheekys?  They were one of my favorites. I added the flower in her hair to mimic the beautiful flower in the frame.  This is hanging up in my cubicle at work and I have been meaning to share it for the past few years.  Better late than never right?  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Arigato Linda!

Hello!

This is the last of three cards I made to give to some crafty friends for their kindness in remembering my birthday.

For this card I chose to stamp, color & fun-cut Kimono Marci with Fan from La-La Land Crafts, Hmmm, is there a pattern here?  (hahaha)  Yes, there is, and it all stems from me wanting to use my neglected LLLC stamps, that's all.  I colored her with Copics and only paper pieced her kimono (not the yellow parts) and her fan.  The patterned paper is from the same Colorbok paper pad and I chose those two pieces because they seemed to match with this Marci.  It all came together fairly quick, and adding the Island Scrapbooking laser cut sentiment and sakura flowers really finishes the card off.

I'm pretty happy with the way all three turned out and so happy the ladies liked them.  Thanks again Donna, Belia & Linda.  You gals are sweet!!

Thank you for stopping by!

Thanks Belia!

Hello!

I'm back to share the second of three cards I made to give to some crafty friends, Donna, Belia and Linda for remembering me on my birthday.  Read all about it in my last post.

This gorgeous little faerie is Daisy Faerie Marci from La-La Land Crafts.  When I saw her I knew I wanted to color her up with blues/greens/yellows and her hair had to be brown!  hahaha!  I had so much fun coloring her.  Must use her again.  The layout is similar to the last card I made and again the patterned papers in the background are from the Colorbok  paper pad.  I also used the same daisy die, and using a white gel pen highlighted the flowers so they could stand out a bit more.  These are some of my favorite colors all in one card.  I have one more card to share so looks like I'll be back tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks Donna!

Hello!

I made a few cards late Friday Night to give to a few crafty friends I was meeting up with on Saturday who were kind enough to remember me on my birthday.  They gave me sweet handmade cards and presents so I wanted to let them know how much I appreciated their thoughtfulness.   I met up with Linda, Belia & Donna in Covina for brunch at Fonda Don Chon, which is a Mexican restaurant and where I gave them their cards.  They were so cute they each passed their cards around to see the different designs.  Too funny!  After brunch we did some shopping at Hobby Lobby and Heart's N Crafts, not too much damage to anyone's wallet as I think we were all trying to be good.  All in all a fun day, we were just missing Kathy!  Here is one of three that I'll be sharing for the next few days...

This sweet summer themed card features some products from La-La Land Crafts, MFT, Lawn Fawn, and My Creative Time.  First off the image is Popsicle Marci from LLLC.  I colored her with Copics and paper pieced her outfit with paper from Colorbok (Light Bright from Wal-Mart). The background patterned paper is also from that same paper pad.  The daisies are from the August LLLC Club kit and I chose Pink Lemonade cardstock to cut them out, the sequins were made with scraps of Banana Split cardstock & MFT Blueprints #24.  The stitched doily is from My Creative Time and last the thanks sentiment die is from Lawn Fawn.

For all the cards I used the same paper pad above.  On the inside of each I stamped a sentiment from MFT LJD gift card greetings (retired) and added a pack of Pretty Pink Posh sequins.   I'll share the other cards over the next two days.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Time for Tea Birthday card

Hello!

I made today's card for my boss' birthday.

Most of the papers used are scraps from my stash.  The layout is simple and functional.  I chose the pretty Always time for tea die set from MFT.  I always love the way dark brown makes everything pop, especially floral designs so I made sure to incorporate it in subtle ways here.  It really gives a nice accent to the card.  I should try to make more cards like this and add to my stash.  I have plenty of scraps that I could definitely accomplish it, and it's always fun to put something together where coloring is not involved.  Just sayin' hahaha!

Thanks for stopping by!

Aloha Friday Challenge #56

Good morning

Before I share my post, let's take a moment to say a prayer, and to tell our loved ones how much we love them.  No matter what's going on take time to appreciate them.  Hope we all have a good day and remember those that are no longer with us.

Challenge runs from 9/11 - 9/25

I've used the fabulous and fun digital image named Dixie Daisy.  I colored her with Copics and clear Wink of Stella.  The star border is from LLLC, the sun looking die and circle are from MFT and the dp is from Webster's Pages.  The sentiment is from AmyR for CC Designs.  Kept the layout CAS.  Isn't she fun?!  Kenny K Downloads has all kinds of fun and cool images, if you play you might just win the prize!!

Make sure to stop by the Aloha Friday challenge page to see all the details for our two week challenge and while you are there pop on over to see all the DT creations.  They are rockin'!!!

Looking forward to your musical share!  Have a great day!

Spotlight @ Kitty Bee Designs

Hello!

Happy Labor Day everyone!

It's the 1st Monday of September which means it's time for a spotlight post from me.  I'm sharing this card over at the Kitty Bee Designs blog.

September is shaping up to be one of those months where tons of birthdays are happening.  There seemed to be a lull for me, but now and until the end of December, I'll be busy making some birthday cards in between Christmas and some calendars.  Lucky for me I stocked up on a few Kitty Bee Designs images to help me with the birthday card process, including this oldie but goodie, Pleasantly Surprised Bear.  This card also features some older DCWV papers, an AmyR sentiment and the layout was created using several dies from MFTs Blueprint #24.  I love this set a lot and how fun that I can create my own sequins using two sets of dies from the same set.

I sent this off last week to my crafty friend, Angie who celebrated her birthday on the 2nd.  1 down lots more to go.  With that I'll sign off with a have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
