Hello Friend!

Hello!

Today is my Friday! Woo Hoo!  Heading out of town for my cousin's long anticipated wedding.  I'm sure it's going to be beautiful and fun.  Hanging out with the cousins to celebrate this special occasion is going to be a blast but also bittersweet as we'll be missing some beloved relatives.

Here's a happy card for today...

Isn't she pretty?  I purchased  this stamp set a while ago and recently found it as I was going through some boxes trying to look for some papers & flowers.  It's from Crafter's Companion and has a total of 9 stamps on it.  I was excited to dig in to these right away.  I have two other cards that I will share later on, for today this pretty little geisha girl gets the spotlight.  I used some pretty washi papers from Hanko Designs that I have been wanting to play with and decided to accent with blacks & reds.  Black lace, black mattes, red cardstock you get the idea.  Here's the full version of the card, front view ...

I wanted to use more of the washi paper so decided to make an easel card.  Here's a side view...

She was colored with Copics as was the lantern, which is also part of this set.  It's funny cause I realize that the tea pot looks tilted!  Not sure if that's how I stamped it or I just cut the scene out crookedly.  Maybe instead of tea there's hot sake inside! ;)  hahaha! For the bottom part I mimicked the top but used red cardstock and dressed it up with some flower punches, a computer generated sentiment and doodles here and there. Here's a close-up...

Yes, I did fussy cut the sentiment, it looks more whimsical to me.  What do you think?  I used my white gel pen to add some fun dots around the paper.  I'm diggin' the bright colors, reminds me of summer.  The sunflowers mimic the ones on her kimono.  You can't tell above but I went over her & the lantern with my Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen, it looks beautiful IRL.  This is the best picture I could get...

Hope this made you smile.  I'm looking forward to sharing the other cards in this set soon.  Since I'm talking about cute Asian stamps did you happen to see the new Sister Stamps release yet?!  If not, the ladies are in the middle of previews and boy are they adorable!  For all the details head on over here.  Well friends I hope you're all doing well and enjoying your days. I appreciate all the love you give me and hope I've done the same for you.  Until next time, Mahalo for stopping by, have a great day!!

KBD Spotlight - Red, White & Blue

Hello!
Happy Memorial Day everyone!  Hope you are all having a nice long weekend.  Today I'm popping in over at the Kitty Bee Designs blog to share this card I made in honor of Memorial Day featuring a cute Boys Day stamp from Kitty Bee Designs.

I thought it would be fun to use this image for an any occasion not just for Boys Day.  I went to my stash of scraps for this card and used an MFT chevron die to create this fun red, white & blue pattern.  After coloring up Boys Day Bear I fussy cut him and popped him up with 3-D foam tape.  I chose the simple sentiment to go with this and now it can be used for any occasion.  Hope I inspired you to break out your dies, scraps and create something cool & simple.

Wishing you all a blessed Memorial Day and to those who sacrifice daily for us and for others, Mahalo.

ConGRADulation - KBD Aloha Friday CH #24

Good morning!

Today starts a new challenge over at the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday challenges.

Challenge #24
GRADUATION/CONGRATULATIONS
Sponsored by Bugaboo
Prize - 7 digis

Make sure to stop by the Aloha Friday challenge blog to see the rest of the cute creations by the Bees. They are sure to inspire and amaze with their projects.  Here's my graduation themed card featuring Hello Panda

Yes under all that is this image:

I had a lot of fun getting this to look like a graduate.  There were a few moments of frustration, but also triumph once I was done.  Because there was a lot going on with the graduate I kept the rest of the card simple.  I know you're probably thinking that washi paper is not subtle, but I think it doesn't detract too much from the Panda graduate or did I get that wrong?  If I did, well it's too late, everything is glued down. (hahaha)

This reminds me of the graduations in Hawai'i when the graduate receives leis that almost cover their faces.  Thought it would be fun to do something similar here.  The diploma is a rolled piece of paper with some gold twine tied around it.  I used gold cardstock to make the banners and I wrote 2014 down each one. The cap was a freebie from the internet as for the gown, I used a scrap piece of black cardstock and freehand drew, then cut the gown to make it work.  I'm pretty happy with the end result.

Well I hope I inspired you today with my graduation card.  I'm not sure I'll attempt this again, but if I do I'll try to remember to make a template.  Don't forget to make sure to follow the theme and then link up with us.  You have until Friday, May 30th to link up.  Mahalo for stopping by, have a great Memorial Day weekend!!

2014 - Graduate

Hello!

I wanted to share some graduation cards I finished featuring the cute Graduate from Sister Stamps, you can read all about this stamp HERE.  Now this stamp is so awesome!  Totally reminds me of when I graduated and we all had lots of flower leis draped over ourselves, not as many as you would find at Hawai'i graduations but enough.  I was inspired by crafty girl and Sister Stamp DT, Eva's cards featuring the Graduate and tried to case her awesome card, HERE.

This card is going to my nephew who is graduating from Waiakea High School on the Big Island.  He's a tall guy so I added a little bit more length to the bottom of his gown.  I loved how Eva used the balloon for the "0" so I did the same.  The washi paper is from Hanko Designs and the numbers are dies from CC Designs.

The cool thing about this image is you can use it for a boy or a girl, just color the gown a different color, add girly colors to the leis or do what I did and add a little bit of hair and a flower in her hair.

Oh yea and it doesn't hurt to use girly washi paper.  Using the same card design I added a girly flair with the washi paper and the girly colored leis.  Added the sentiment to fill in the white space.  Oh and you can see a close up of the flower in her hair below...

Going to keep the second one for my stash, there's bound to be someone else who's graduating this year right?  Well that's all from me today.  I hope you'll stop by Eva's blog and check out her awesome creations, looks like she's in to sewing now! Wow what can't that wahine do? (hahaha) She's pretty super talented and very sweet.

KBD - Spotlight Baby Girl

Morning!

Today I'm sharing a quick spotlight on the Kitty Bee Designs blog featuring Pleasantly Surprised Bear.

I needed a baby shower card for a co-worker and this image worked out perfectly. My colors are not the traditional baby girl colors, but I tend not to do traditional. lol.  I really like the blue & pink combo and went with it.  Lots going on here yea?  hahaha...  I used a white cardbase, pink matte on top of that then another blue matte on top of that which is embossed with polka dots, on top of that is a darker pink & white tag, then a doily to help break up the different patterns, and the additional butterfly, sentiment and banner top off this card. I also wanted to share a bag I transformed with some sheets of paper and some flowers.

The bag is from Bath & Body Works and it was perfect for my gift.  Sorry I wish I had taken pictures of the outfits, they were the same colors, navy blue & pink and so darn cute.  They were the actual inspiration for my card and color choices. Glad I could doll up the bag to use for the gift and I am happy to report that everything on it was from my stash!! Woot!!  The sentiment in the upper right corner says,

"A baby
Makes love stronger,
the days shorter,
the nights longer,
savings smaller
and a home happier"

Thought that was a perfect sentiment to fill that space on the bag.

Well thanks for stopping by to see my Spotlight showcase of this adorably cute bear in a gift. To purchase her/him or any of the adorable Kitty Bee Designs images just pop on over to the Etsy store located HERE. Don't forget about our current Aloha Friday Challenge either, click HERE for details.  Happy Saturday!

LFF #72

Happy Aloha Friday.
Before I get in to today's post I'd like you to help say a prayer for all the people suffering from the fires in California and another prayer for the safety of our firefighters and first responders.  It's devastating to see so many fires in so short a time.  Safety to our firefighters and others helping to contain and eventually put them out. Mahalo!

For today's Lilo's Fun Friday I have a pretty CAS Thank you card I made for one of our temps.  He was truly a temp with us, only with us for less than a few months.  We still see him around the office because he's now with another department.

This is Shin-Shin from Sister Stamps.  I paired him up with some Evening Poetry washi paper from Hanko Designs.  After coloring him up with Copics, I matted the image on to a small piece of navy cardstock and popped the image up with dimensional foam adhesive.  The sentiment is computer generated and I added it right next to the image.

Isn't that face too cute?!

Don't forget that Kitty Bee Designs is currently in the middle of our newest Aloha Friday challenge (Scraps), hope you're playing for a chance to win a cool prize from the Doodle Garden.  Click HERE for details. Have a great weekend!  Mahalo for stopping by!

Sugar & Spice...

...and everything nice...

Hello!
Today I'd like to share another new card featuring another adorable TGF stamp, Up Up Bean.

After Anya, the Beans are my favorites.  It has to be their adorable expressions, or possibly their chubby cuteness.  Whatever it is, the Beans are certainly a favorite of mine and I'm sure many others.   Went very CAS here only adding some green polka dot banners in different sizes and this time I incorporated a handwritten sentiment.  Boy do I need to work on my handwriting.  I've gotten so used to computer-generated sentiments that my writing looks so bad!  hahaha!

This is another image I know I'll have lots of fun creating with, especially because a lot of my friends have little girls who would love something with her on it.  Until then thanks a lot for stopping by.  Hope you weren't too bored.

A Sisters Calendar

Hello!

Today I wanted to share this calendar I made for one of my friends.  She has two little girls and I thought using the BFFs from Sister Stamps would be perfect.

Keeping this one CAS was easy.  I used some beautiful washi paper I purchased from Hanko Designs plus some pink flower gems.  I matted the calendar on to some pink scrap cardstock and lastly I used dimensional tape to give them a little lift.

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy hump day!

A Belated Happy Mother's Day post

Hello!

I know I didn't get a chance to post this on the actual day, but better late than never. I hope all the Mothers out there had a lovely day filled with family and lots of spoiling. My dad bought my mom a lovely bouquet of flowers, my brother's and I cooked and for dessert we had a yummy lemon tart from Trader Joe's. I also took my mom shopping, but we didn't get anything, I guess the sales weren't that great.  lol.  We also gave her this card filled with money...

I have been having way too much fun with the new TGF stamps.  It was really easy to choose the ones I wanted to combine to make a new image. I combined Frappi Anya with the new Bean (still not sure what her name is, anyone? Anyone? hahaha) to make her look like my mom.  They both have the same hairstyle.  My mom doesn't really have an outfit like that but it's ok, didn't want to go overboard with the alterations. The colors might be a bit different for everyone, but they are my mom's school colors.  I threw in the green to match the cup.  The chevrons are made up of combinations of different paper pads and some Recollections cardstock that I had scraps of and all were cut using two MFT dies.  I decided to add the Bo Bunny doily at the last minute (note to self, if you're going to do that make sure to adhere the doily first before you add the last chevron else you'll be sorry... lol)  Used a white gel pen to make some faux stitching around the edge of the card and the sentiment is a laser cut word from Island Scrapbooking that I colored with Copics to match the card.  All were mounted on to a kraft card.

I really loved the process of this card.  Using the dies helped a lot and cut in to my scraps considerably.  Well that's all I have today. I hope you're having a great week. Thanks for stopping by.

Take Flight

Hello!

Today I'm going to share a card featuring one super cute TGF image.  I was excited to purchase the exclusive Skyward Anya along with a few other TGF stamps to add to my already overflowing collection. She is a cutie and although she's not very practical to use, I could not wait to ink her up and put her on a card.

I used a few new items on this card.  The first is the cloud embossing folder from Crafter's Companion, the Prima & Recollection flowers, the image, and I believe the white leaves which is a die from CC Designs.

Such a sweet face yea?  I'm so glad that Marie has continued to give us more cute and adorable Anyas to play with. Now we need more Ians!!  Just sayin' (lol)!  See the sparkle on her goggles?  That's from my WOS clear glitter brush pen.  Love how sparkly it looks. Well that's all for me folks.  Hope to be around to see what you've all been up to real soon.  Thanks a lot for stopping by.
Have a great day!!

Thank U! - LFF's #71

Hello and happy Aloha Friday!

Are you all ready for the weekend?  I'm always excited for the weekend. A time to sleep in and wear pjs all day. hahaha!  What you don't?

I've got a really bright and fun card to share for today's Lilo's Fun Friday #71 featuring the really adorable Frappi Anya from The Greeting Farm.

I know this is such a girly card yea?  I love how it turned out.  The banner is a new-to-me from La-La Land Crafts and I paired it with patterned paper from Colorbok. The rest of the card includes a Bo Bunny doily, an MFT tag with MME, Lime Twist, patterned paper, a bright pink ribbon, die cut Alphabet "U" and Frappi Anya. Here's a close-up of the banner and the "U", as you can see I used a white gel pen to write in Thank inside the banner. I'm actually diggin' the colors here.  (yes that is a shocker!)

This card already has a home and I hope the recipient enjoys it.  It was made just for her.

Time to sign off, hope you have a great Friday and a nice weekend.  Thanks a lot for stopping by!

A Bean Calendar

Hi!

Today is going to be short and sweet.  The sweet part is this adorable new Bean, sorry I'm not quite sure what her name is but if I had to guess I'd call her Friends Rachel Bean because her hair has the signature Rachel cut.  ^.^  If you happen to know her name could you leave it in the comments section? Thanks!

I think she might be one of my new favorites.  I love her hair and am very proud with how her's turned out. (Woot!)  For the calendar I used up some leftover red & white polka dot pp and scattered some red gem flowers.  The calendar itself is mounted on to some scrap newspaper patterned paper.

See told ya, I'm done.  hahaha!  Hope your day is a great one!  Thanks a lot for stopping by today.

A Birthday Card for Mom

Hello!

May is a busy month of birthdays for me.  The 1st alone has 3 I needed to come up with.  I shared one of the cards the other day and today I'm going to share the one I made for my mom.  This card was a lot of fun to make.  I used a few supplies that I found at Daiso and the rest was from my stash.

I picked the colors from that beautiful strip of fabric tape behind Yoko. The card itself is a bluish-gray washi paper.  Both of these items I found at Daiso.  The strip of white lace was purchased at Marukai and the kanji Happy Birthday stamp is from Crafter's Companion.  I chose Yoko for obvious reasons, but most of all, she is one of my all time favorites.

I really love the colors on Yoko, will definitely use those again.  Ok, time to sign off.  Thanks for stopping by. Have a great 1/2 way to Fri-day!

Thanks a bunch! - KBD Spotlight post

Hello everyone!

It's the first Monday of May so that means it's DT spotlight time for me and today I have a Thank you card I made using the adorable Well Hello There Bunny from Kitty Bee Designs.

If you've been by my blog you'll recognize that Easter egg paper in the background.  I had a small amount of it left so I decided to make a thank you card.  Pretty simple layout, layered a couple of doilies under the image and colored her up pretty quickly.  A simple computer generated sentiment and the card was done.  Easy peasy.  Hope I've inspired you to use up those scraps of left over paper to make a quick card and to make it cute you should definitely use a Kitty Bee Designs image.  Start shopping here.

Mahalo for stopping in!

Anya Treats Birthday Card

Well hello!

Hope you're all having a nice weekend.  It's been quite sometime since my last post, so I'm popping in today to share a card I made for a friend's birthday.  I'll try to keep it short.

I decided to go with summery colors using bright/light yellows, oranges, and some hints of peach.  The card base is a 6x12 piece of DCWV patterned paper.  Perfect for what I was going for.  I picked Anya Treats from TGF for my image, colored her with Copics and instead of fussy cutting her, kept some of the white paper so I could add some loopy doodles around the edge. The flowers are from Recollections that I have had for years, added a doily, some flat-backed pearls and a computer generated sentiment.  Glad to use up some of my older supplies that I think are still so pretty.

I've been using my WOS clear glitter brush pen a lot lately. I love how it gives a nice shimmer to the bright colors, and sometimes, like up top, it photographs nicely.

One down, several more to go.  :)  Hope you all enjoy the rest of your Sunday as Monday will be here way too soon.  Thanks for stopping by!
