Kitty Bee Designs - CH #6 Mid Inspiration

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Today, the Bees are sharing our mid-inspirations for the current Aloha Friday challenge over on the Kitty Bee Designs blog.  Please stop over and see what the rest of the Bees are up to.  A reminder that you still have time to play in the current challenge:

CHALLENGE #6
HAPPY BIRTHDAY

For my share, I made two very CAS cards featuring the adorable Pleasantly Surprised Bear digi

Birthday card
Isn't this image adorable? I love how the bear is peeking out of the gift box! Also looks like he's wearing a hat.  hehe. Super cute!

I used white Neenah cardstock for the base and embossed it with a Sizzix polka dot folder.  Added a strip to the bottom and stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment using a Paper Smooches clear stamp.  Colored the bear and gift box with Copics and used the 0 marker to make the polka dots on the gift.

Mini Birthday card
I printed out two images, one slightly bigger than the other.  I was planning on making another card/tag set, but had a scrap of leftover white cardstock big enough to make a smaller version of the card.  So I mimicked this card to the first one.  I reversed the colors on the image and love how the ribbon turned out.  Again I colored with Copics and taking the 0 marker I added the polka dots.  The sentiment was handwritten.

Birthday card & Mini B-day card
Here is what the cards look like side-by-side.  The bear is so cute it really doesn't need anything more than a nice embossed backdrop.  I'm sure I'll be using this image over and over for many more birthday, anniversary or celebration cards and projects.

Well that's all for me.  Make sure you head on over to the KBD blog and directly link up your project at the original post from last week (8/16).  Make sure to follow the rules or else Kel will have to delete it.  That would be a total bummer!

Mahalo for stopping by today!  Have a fantastic Aloha Friday!

Hugs,
Lilo

Y&FH CH #22 - Photo Inspiration

Aloha from the Big Island!
I'm taking a little break from blogland for a while, except to pre-post some challenge team projects, like today's Y&FH one.  Stop by the Y&FH blog for more details on today's challenge, the rules and check out the wonderful creations by Team Yumi created for....

CHALLENGE #22 - PHOTO INSPIRATION

I'll be back in another week or so to catch up and see what everyone has been up to.  It's been raining for the past couple of days so it was the perfect time to stay at the house and craft.  Now I didn't bring too much stuff, but lucky for me I was able to get some items at the local "Michael's" aka "Ben Franklin" and I got a chance to visit the famous Island Scrapbooking where I picked up lots of fun stuff to play with. :) If you're in the neighborhood try to stop by, it's a cute little shop and the owner, Michelle is so nice.  I've already been twice and I'm more than likely heading back there before I leave. (lol)

Now getting back to my project.  Like I said I didn't bring a lot with me, but I did find a few things to make this CAS card featuring Summer Yumi...

Thank you with Summer Yumi
I colored Yumi on the plane ride over so all I had to do was fussy cut her.  She's popped on the card with 3-D mounting tape.  The flowers (except for the one in her hair) and "Thank you" sentiment are all laser cut-outs that I picked up at IS.  The flower in her hair is from Jolee and the dp is Sweet Girl by Lori Whitlock for Echo Park.  Loved the colors and patterns on both because they tied in with the colors in the inspiration photo.

Ok folks, you have until next week Friday, Aug 30th to link up your project HERE.  Good luck!  Mahalo for stopping by today, I hope you all have a wonderful week and get crafty with Yumi & Fumi.  Until next time...

Alooohaaa!

Kitty Bee Designs - CH #6 Happy Birthday!

Hey Everyone!!
It's time for a new Aloha Friday challenge over at Kitty Bee Designs!  Woo Hoo!!

CHALLENGE #6
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday card & Tag

I used Happy Birthday Kitty for my card and tag. The fun thing about digital images is that you can make them really big or small to fit inside a tag.  That's what I did here.  The card is a 4x4 with a window so that you can see the adorable image peeking through.  I chose some girly colors (pinks, purples, magentas) and paired those up with some papers from Wild Rose Studio.  The tag was created using a Magnolia die.  I had so much fun coloring the kitty, she sorta looks like a baby tiger yea? hahaha!!  Tried to mimic the tag to match the card and I think I did a pretty good job.

Alrighty, don't forget to read the rules before you link up with us on the Kitty Bee Designs blog and then leave some love for my Bee teammates.  Mahalo for stopping by today!!  Have a happy Aloha Friday!!

Hugs,
Leanne

Something everyone can play in right?  Yes!!  So all you have to do is create something with any image and link up with us.  Yep you read correctly any image.  If you haven't heard, we've also changed some of our rules, so please be sure to read the Challenge info to be up to date.  You don't want to miss out on anything.

Summer Fumi 3-drawer easel box
For my share today I have a 3-drawer easel box that I made a while back.  To see how to make this easel box check out my tutorial on the Y&FH blog HERE.  To get the three boxes just follow the directions for the smaller box and make 3.  I have to confess, when I was making that tutorial I was making a bunch of these until I finally finished the one that ended up on the blog.  I created the drawer bases and I left it alone.  I actually had something else in mind for this one, but when you're under pressure you go with instinct (aka desperation) and voila!  I actually think it turned out fairly cute.  There's A LOT going on with the paper here so I thought let's try to keep the rest of it super simple.  I already had Summer Fumi colored, (love her as a blonde!) and the colors I used were just a wonderful coincidence. (happy happy)  I think she's my favorite so far, but shhhh... don't tell the others... (hahaha)  I added that Recollections banner pulling in the pinks from the paper.  Added the sheer turquoise ribbon which has a really pretty but subtle sparkle to it and the sentiment stamped and punched out with an EK punch.
Summer Fumi
Okie dokes, that's all for me.  I hope you enjoyed my share, don't forget to stop by the blog today and leave some love for Team Yumi.  They worked really hard on their projects and it's their debut posts as part of the ohana.  Then get to creating and link up your projects, we're excited to see what you create.  Have a blessed weekend!! Mahalo for stopping by!

Happy Aloha Friday Everyone!
It's been a long time since I've posted a Lilo's Fun Friday, so today I thought I'd take the time to update that.  (I will try to post a LLF when I'm not posting for KBD.)

For today's Lilos' Fun Friday I wanted to share a new card I just finished.  One of my good friends asked if I could make a wedding card for her niece who just recently got married.  She was so sweet, saying she wanted a one-of-a-kind card.  She knows how to get to me. (haha)  Actually I was happy to make one, it's been a while since I made a card for this occasion, so it was a nice change.  It was a toss up between two of my favorite images, but I decided to choose this one because of a picture my friend sent me from the wedding.  I thought this image suited the couple and the picture she shared.   I went with a simple layered design with papers from MME.

Wedding card with Mr. & Mrs.

The image is called Mr. & Mrs. from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. After choosing the papers and dies I just started to build the card up.  Love the MME paper, it's so pretty and sparkly. Thought adding the doily gave it a really nice touch.  The sentiment is from AmyR Wedding sentiments and I used an EK Success punch to cut it out. Lastly I added the photo corners.  Yes I did fussy cut the image.  Almost lopped off her arm!  It was a close call, and I'm happy to report that no one was hurt in the process. ;)

Inside of wedding card
Normally I don't make anything on the inside, but it didn't feel finished to me, so I mimicked the front, but instead of an image I chose two more sentiments from the same AmyR Wedding sentiments set.  I was so proud of myself for getting the sentiment straight inside the heart on the first try!  yay!  The second sentiment was cut using the same EK punch as the one on the front of the card.  This card turned out to be a favorite of mine after I was done.

Mr. & Mrs. Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps
Congratulations to the bride and groom!  I really hope they like the card.  Thanks Rose for asking. I had a lot of fun making this one.

It's going to be a busy weekend for me but I'll try to stop by and see what you've been up to.  Mahalo for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Lilo
