LFF #56 Miyoko & Horse

"It's raining it's poring the old man is snoring"

Good morning and Happy Aloha Friday!!

I spoke to soon about having beautiful weather here in California.  It's been raining for the past two days and I'm wondering if it will let up anytime soon.  Well here's hoping it's only for a little while, people tend not to know how to drive when it rains. :(

Be safe out there and especially to those of you who have to deal with the snow.

Here's something that should warm you up.  I have been neglecting my Sister Stamps since Christmas so I wanted to give them some love.  For today's Lilo's Fun Friday #56 I have a sweet card featuring Miyoko & Horse.

  These two were the perfect duo for a card.  My friend Janelle recently purchased a horse and she was the inspiration behind my idea.  Score!  {lol}  After coloring both I fussy cut them.  I'm not sure if horses like cupcakes, well I'm sure they might, but I do know they love apples so I cut the cupcake out of Miyoko's hand and replaced it with an apple.  Uh-oh looks like Horse does like apples, he's already taken a bite out of hers.  But it's ok, look at how huge the apple is, she's ok with sharing. {lol}

Did you know that Sister Stamps is getting ready to release a new set of kawaii stamps?
Head on over to their blog here and check it out.  Jenny has already started her debut posts so you might have a chance to win a stamp from the new release.  Head on over to their blog and follow the rules for a chance to win.

Alrighty, time for me to get moving.  Have a terrific Aloha Friday and a fantastic weekend!!

Mahalo for stopping by!
Hugs,
Lilo

A Twinkle Bean Valentine

Hey everyone!!

Hope you are having a great day!!  Today was a bit stressful, but hoping that this card will cheer me up.  I'm posting it now so that I don't miss out on the Farm Fresh Friday challenge, "Punch It!"

Here is my latest Valentine's Day themed card featuring Twinkle Bean from The Greeting Farm

I have to say that after finishing this card I was definitely cheered up.  Especially after I finished coloring her hair!  Loved how it turned out.  I do see some places where I need to go back in, but all-in-all I loves it.

The paper is from the Love Note 6x6 paper pad from Fancy Pants Designs.  I loved the hearts on the light pink paper, so I trimmed the paper to frame that part of the paper, then used a Fiskars lacey border punch on some black card stock to give it a little frame.  This is the first time I've covered up the cardstock that the paper is glued to.  I usually leave a slight border, but this time I decided to cover it up because I liked how it looked with out the black border.  (The card base is black cardstock in case you were wondering)

For the sentiment I punched out a medium sized heart and trimmed LOVE out of one of the patterned papers in the paper pad.  Besides the border, there are 10 punched hearts on this card.  I already told you where one of them is but can you tell where the other 9 are?  Here's a guess, look closely at the black paper.  Yep all 9 black hearts are leftover cut outs from the Spellbinder circle hearts die.  I kept them to use for a shaker card or in this case, floating hearts.  :)

Alrighty, it's time for me to get going, hoping you have a wonderful evening!!

Mahalo for stopping by!!
Hugs,
Leanne

Marci with Flower

Hey everyone!

We've been having some fabulous weather, I hope it stays like this for a while.  Not too hot, but nice enough that we don't have to bundle up, but at night, brrrr...  Those are the times I want to jump in to my pjs and veg on the couch.  lol...

Here is another card I submitted to Designed to Color for the Trending Mark call for the Aug/Sep 2012 issue.  The trending mark was to use fabric on your project.  This is the second card in the magazine on page 16.  The other card I submitted can be found here.  I was intrigued with the challenge to use fabric on a card.  I went to the local Joann's and searched, now if you've been to a Joann's you know there are tons of fabrics to choose from, and out of all the ones I saw I picked one from the bargain bin. (lol)  It had a really sweet print on it that reminded me of my youth and when my mom used to sew cute little tops for me and my sister.  I knew that Marci with Flower from La-La Land Crafts would be the perfect image to go with that pattern.  Now all I needed to do was put everything together.  Here's what I came up with...
Doesn't she go perfectly with the fabric pattern I chose?  I kept the design really CAS with the fabric and Marci the focal point.  I added a couple butterfly chippies from MIC to add a fun touch to the card, matted the fabric to some red & white polka dot patterned paper and mounted them all on to white daisy embossed cardstock from  Hanko Designs.

I would love to try using fabric again, so look for something in the future.  Well that's all for today.  Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!!  Mahalo for stopping by!
Hugs,
Leanne

BABY girl

Good morning!

Stopping in for a short post.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop as well. :)

Hope you all had a terrific weekend.  My weekend was pretty good.  I attended a baby shower for one of my good friends yesterday.  It was a lot of fun.  A lot of different games that I enjoyed and the food was dee-licioso!  I went with a peachy-yellow color for her card and picked the new Swiss Pixie baby girl digi stamp from All That Scrap's January release to use.

As you can see the layout is pretty simple.  I'm glad I chose a different color scheme because this card is nice and bright.  I'm going to enter this for fun in the All That Scraps Anything Goes challenge.

Mahalo for stopping by, have a terrific Monday!

Have a Magical Day

Good morning!

Got lots to do before I head out for the day, but I wanted to share this card I made for my sister's birthday.

This is Teen Fairy Mia from Mo's Digital Pencil.  Isn't she fabulous?!  I kept the card simple making Fairy Mia the main focal point.  I love this image and she's perfect for my sister as I think she is fabulous as well.

Here's a close up.  I added clouds behind her, she looks like she's floating.

Okie dokes, time to sign off.  Mahalo for stopping by!
Have a terrific weekend!

LFF #55 - Mousey Mo

Happy Aloha TGIFriday everyone!

Hope everyone is doing well.

CHA is over and yes we were able to get in.  Thanks for the wishes.  We saw a lot of beautiful new things coming out for 2013 that I think everyone will enjoy.  My favorite part of the show?  Not the show itself, but getting to meet up with some of my favorite crafty people.  Once I move the pics from my phone I will share.  :)

Now let's get to my LFF #55 share for today.  I've realized that I am enjoying making Valentine themed cards right now.  I'm sure that will change in a few weeks, but for now I wanted to share this one that kinda combines cuteness with a bit of goth.  Meet Mousey Mo from Saturated Canary.  She is so darn cute with her Minnie Mouse-like hoodie and one peeking eye.  Had a bit of fun coloring her up, especially her hair.  If you look close you can see I also colored her eyebrow and eyelashes to match her hair.

A simple but fun layout with some simple elements and fun dp.  I left the sentiment off just in case I wanted to use it for a non-Valentine card.  The heart stamp is from Unity, love the distress effect it gives.  To give it that glow around her I used distress ink while the Spellbinder frame was still on.

Okie dokes, that's about it.
Mahalo for stopping by today!!
Y'all have a great weekend!!

Hugs,
Lilo

Thank you from Yumi & Fumi

Morning!
I really liked using the heart window stamp from Stamps by Judith, so you might see a couple more projects with me using it.  Like today for instance, this time it's a card...
I stamped Yumi & Fumi inside the heart, well sorta.  I stamped them twice and colored one, fussy cut each and then adhered it to the original stamped images.  I wanted to do the outside the window so to speak.  I used the postage stamp Spellbinder as a base and then created a very simple layout.

I made a similar card with different colors which I'll be sharing later in the week as it ties in to the latest Yumi & Fumi Handmade January challenge going on right now.

Okie dokes, hope you all have a terrific day!!

A Wild Sprout..Yay!

Good morning!

I hope you all had a really nice weekend.  As I write this post I'm totally excited and anxious for tomorrow.  Why you ask?  Well, me and Renate are headed to CHA!  Well at least that's the plan.  If we don't get in, well that's ok, cause then we're headed to Disneyland!!  We'll have NO problems getting in there.  lol.. Wish us luck either way. :)

I was really excited to see the new stamps released at The Greeting Farm included a brand new Wild Sprout!  I have to say these are my favorite, not sure what it is about them, but I adore them.  I inked up WS Gracie for this share and I also used a stamp from Stamps by Judith.  It's a window heart stamp.
I had a fun making this...

I bet you are wondering what? Another card?  Nope, not today...
Well what is it?  Well let me get an angled view for ya...
Voila!  It's a heart shaped treat box!
I used the regular & scalloped Heart Spellbinder dies to create this and the box itself was made using origami box instructions.  Let me tell you, it's much easier to use origami paper than cardstock, but then it's not as sturdy.  :)  I embossed the white heart die with a script folder, added a ribbon, button and hemp rope for a simple accent.  The sentiment is handwritten and reads:
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart! xoxo"

I think I'll enter this in the FFF International Thank you Day challenge

Okie dokes, off to bed and early to rise, we're heading to Anaheim and someone is going to be surprised!
LOL!!  Sorry about that, I'm loopy from being up since 4am!!  Mahalo for stopping by, wish us luck on getting in to CHA, else we'll drown our sorrows at Disneyland.  Hm... Disneyland, CHA?  Either one would make me happy.  Have a fabulous day!!

Hugs,
Leanne

Breaking out the old...

Good morning!

Thanks a lot for popping in today, I appreciate it very much.

So yesterday as I was washing clothes there wasn't really anything on t.v. that I wanted to watch so I decided to watch the first season of Hawaii 5-0.  As I watched the pilot I realized that I had never seen it before.  So glad I did because now everything sort of makes sense.  lol.  Mind you I have already seen most of the First Season, but don't mind watching it again.  I get to see Hawaii, some good lookin' guys and oh yea of course the story lines.  {lol}  All-in-all a good day.

In between watching H50, I also got a chance to make a card.  My very first Valentine themed card of 2013.  I used an oldie from CC Designs.  The funny thing about this image is that I remember stamping it from my Copic certification class when this stamp first debuted, what 2 years ago?  Only recently did I find it along with some other papers from that long ago class.  Well I'm happy to say I finally finished coloring her up and have put her on a card. :)

Here's my finished card featuring the adorable C.C. Design Swiss Pixie Violet with Key.

The papers are from a S.E.I. paper pad I bought at one of the Anaheim Expos.  I was lucky enough to grab it as it was the last one!  I believe that was more than a few years ago too!  I have been waiting to use it for the right occasion.  I also have an older BG dp on here too.
I used a bunch of punched hearts from a Spellbinder die, a couple heart punches and a heart from the C.C. Cutters Key & Lock die set to make the butterfly.  For the antennae I used a paper flower stamin.  I think I used about 10 hearts from the Spellbinder dies, two each from a small & medium punch and one from the C.C. Cutter die.  So that makes 15 to create the butterfly.  Used a Swiss dots embossing folder for the larger pink wings and colored the dots with a white gel pen.  I have some leftover hearts from the SB die so I just might make another one. :)

Next I wanted to share a close up of the banners which spell out L-O-V-E.  The banners are from the C.C. Cutter Mini Banner die set.  The hearts inside the banners are each punched with a smaller heart punch I have.  (Yep got a bunch of punches, ha!)  I punched white cs and then I colored them up using Copics.  The letters were handwritten with a white gel pen.  Last I added white dots to the ends of the banners with Ice White Viva Decor pen.

Here is a close up of CC Designs Swiss Pixie Violet with Key in her pink, brown with a touch of red outfit.  I colored the key red and added Stickles.  I also added some to her headband.  I know I should have grounded her, but I get nervous when I do, I almost always end up not liking it.  Next time. {lol}

You are all in for a shocker!  I actually have the Copic colors I used.  Well that's only cause they are still on the table and not back in the holder.  {haha}  Here ya go:
Skin: E50, E51, E21, BV20, R20
Hair: E55, E57, E59, E79
Dress, hat, socks: R27, R29, RV10, RV11, RV13, E55, E57, E47
Boots: E55, 57
Key: R27, R29, E55, E57

Entering this card in to the All That Scraps challenge just for fun.

Alrighty, enjoy the rest of your weekend and I might have some pictures for you from CHA.

Aloha!!

Leanne

LFF #54 - Shhh.....

Hello...

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments!  Work has been so crazy and reading all the lovely comments makes the end of the day so much better.  Mahalo for making this girl's end of the day a whole lot better!  :)

Today for Lilo's Fun Friday I wanted to share a baby card I made for my friend Angie.  After stamp camp we became good friends and every month a few of us still get together for dinner and catch up.  She revealed to us that she was pregnant and boy were we all happy.  So many babies are on the way.  Love it!!  We were meeting up for dinner so I wanted to make a card for her.  Lucky for me a ton of really adorable baby images were just released from All That Scraps including some super cute forest and safari pals from Sweet November!!  Wow, Amy did an awesome job with this new release. And I can't leave out any of the CC Designs images... all super cute!!

I purchased the digital images for most of the release and started to build a small scene...
Shhhh... don't wake the baby....

Oh darn!!  I missed a nose!!  {lol}  Oh well, hopefully Angie won't notice it.  hehehe...  Anyhoos, here's my card featuring the Forest & Safari pals who are making sure that Baby Bear Beatrice is staying all snuggled and warm during her nap.  The cool thing about BB Beatrice is that you can color her up as a little boy, which is what I did, no one the wiser. ;)  I had a lot of fun with the colors, mixing and mis-matching, but they all seem to go together.  I know there are a lot of mistakes, but hopefully I'll be forgiven.  {ha!}

After I colored all the images (save for that nose) I cut the paper down and created a frame.  It was actually super easy.  After gluing down the colored image on to the dp I cut small strips of dp and angle/glued them in the corners.  Pretty easy!!  Oh look another handwritten sentiment {lol} hey I needed something fast. :)

Alrighty, time to say good night or good morning where ever you may be.

Mahalo for stopping by.
Have a great Aloha Friday!!

Hugs,
Lilo

Hello....

Hello!

Today I'd like to share another Y&FH image, this is Fumi with Bear Backpack.  I haven't given her much love since the B2S series was released so inked her up and colored her up.  I wanted to try a different hair color, so I grabbed some reds and "went to town."   Love how it turned out.  Gave her some blue green eyes and a nice porcelain skin.  {lol}

I used the latest Jen Shults DS83 sketch because I was inspired by the adorable card that Denice used on her Tuesday post at Y&FH.  Please stop by to check it out, you'll be entertained by the really funny story she shared.  :)  The dp is from MME, with dark chocolate accents.  I handwrote the sentiment on the bottom and added half pearls here and there.

Time for me to check out.  I hope you're having a wonderful day.  Mahalo for stopping by.  We'll see you again tomorrow.

DTC Sketch Challenge

Hey everyone!!

Are any of you an NCIS fan?  I love the show and am always watching the reruns on tv.  I'd rather watch them more then regular tv.  {hehe}  I just had to share that last night's episode was pretty unexpected but really good.  I still have chills from it!!  If you're a fan you'll know what I'm talking about.  Can't wait to see next weeks although I don't think it will top last night.
Getting back into non-Christmas card mode has been fun.  For my card today  I used the January photo inspiration over at Y&FH to pick the colors I wanted to use.  Click here to check out the details of the new month long challenge going on over at Yumi & Fumi Handmade.   We hope you join us.

I colored up Fumi with Messenger bag for fun and used up some scraps of one of my favorite BG papers.

If I find more of this BG dp I'm getting it!  It's so cute!!  Besides pulling the same colors from the inspiration photo,  I mimicked the slats in the crib's back drop by scoring a piece of white cs every half inch.  Pulled the black & white polka dot paper from one of the banners and added the laser cut sentiment to the bottom.

This layout is actually a sketch from Designed to Color's current challenge.  I think I will enter this card there and also there is an open challenge at FBW.  Just make sure to use a fairy, angel or butterfly.

Alrighty time for me to vamoose!  I might stop by for another share tomorrow. Until then... Mahalo for stopping by!  Have a terrific day!

Hugs,
Leanne

Sit Back & Relax

Morning!!

Popping in real quick to share a card I made using a really cute new digital stamp called Alicia Loves Reading from Alicia's Little Shop.  Alicia has only a few images right now, but she seems to be cranking them out daily and each one is as cute as the others.  Love the anime style of them and will be adding more as they come out.

I am giving this card to my mom, because this gal totally reminds me of her!  I colored her up to look like mom with just a little bit of adjustments to her top.  The couch is a replica of our very own one.  My mom loves to read and since she retired in June she's been doing a lot of that and watching a lot of tv.  What a life yea?

I used papers from MME Renunion and cased Kim Yu's awesome card.  The dangling bauble is from a wonderful RAK also from the talented Kim Yu.  Check out her Etsy store for lots of gorgeous creations.

I'm entering my card in to Alicia's special challenge which ends today!

Okie dokes, gotta run!!  Make sure to stop by Alicia's blog and wish her welcome to our community!!

Mahalo for stopping by!!
Have a lovely day!!

January Y&FH Challenge

Happy Sunday!!

Today starts the new monthly challenge at Yumi and Fumi Handmade.  We really appreciate everyone that participated in our December challenge, and congrats to the winners!  January is another month long challenge, so you have plenty of time to participate.  We hope you join us.  Stop by the Y&FH blog to see if you are a winner, the DT samples and to see what the details are for the January inspiration photo challenge.  Good luck!

Here is the kawaii photo Rosemary chose for us to use:

And here is what I came up with featuring Chase from our Back to School line

Yep my Chase has pink hair and dreamy aqua eyes.  He's also not afraid to wear a pink dress shirt with a light aqua tie.  Added him on to a tag which is the same pattern as the pillow.  Super simple.

I hope you'll be able to join our challenge.
Mahalo friends for stopping by!

Baby Mia

Good morning!!!

My co-worker/friend Desiree is pregnant with her first baby and she's having a girl!!  We are so excited to meet little Mia and can't wait for her to get here!!  Last month we had a baby shower for her and her DH.  The room was decorated with giant gorgeous balloons made by my co-worker, with cute stuffed animals, the balloons were awesome and sooo cute!!  I will also share those as well, they are too cute not to. Everyone had a wonderful time including mama and papa-to-be.

I wanted to make this card super special, well just because.  {hehe}  I had seen this cute Butterfly baby from Saturated Canary and thought PERFECT!  Pulled papers from Simple Stories, Baby Steps, and lots of dark brown cardstock.  (Be warned there will be a ton of photos and this might be longthy - lol!)  I have to say this is one of my all time favorite cards!  Desiree had the sweetest compliment.  It's a funny story!  She never took the card out of the bag when she opened my present so I thought she hadn't seen it.  :(  After the party and when all the presents were packed away, I told her to make sure she looks inside the card that there was a giftcard inside, she confessed that she was afraid to take it out because she didn't want to mess it up!  {hehe}  She really hadn't seen the card at all!  I told her no worries, it's really sturdy!  The next morning she text messaged me and it was the sweetest compliment!  She loved the card and a few other things.  Totally made my day! :D

You might not be able to tell but it's a HUGE tag card with lots of layers and accents!  Here's a close up of the front of the card featuring Butterfly Baby.  She's so cute!  I colored her using colors from the papers.  Finally tried my hand at some rolled roses which I have always wanted to try thanks to Mary J. She makes them look so easy to make and they do add a feminine touch.  The sentiment is from AmyR.

Another close up of the bottom of the card.  I layered some white lace ribbon and created some buttons out of paper.

Here's a peek at the top of the card.  I used C.C. Cutters mini banners and button set.  The sentiments inside the banners are all handwritten.  I debated on the word "BABY" and "MAMA" and went with BABY, although we've been saying Mama Mia I kinda thought it was a bit cheesy.  {lol}

The ribbon is from my stash and one I've hoarded for quite some time.  Love that it matched my color theme for the outside.  And here is the other banner where I handwrote "MIA".  Tied off the button with some pink and white twine.

Now for the inside of the card, I didn't have enough room for the wings here, so I cut them off so that the sentiment, AmyR, could fit.  Colored her outfit similar to the front, but a different color.

Here's Papa {Justin} & Mama {Desiree} to-be and Baby Mia. :)  I don't think they will mind me sharing.  :)

Check out the flower balloon my co-worker made!! It's huge and so darn cute!!  And do you see the pink giraffe in the corner with the column of balloons underneath?  She found that giraffe and made the column of balloons. Desiree loved it!  We all did!

Here's a close-up of the giraffe, cute yea? :)

Here are a couple more wall flower balloons!!

It was a really lovely party and Desiree had a really good time.  So many cute baby things and you have to check out the adorable bike my crafty buddy Kathy made.  Check out her blog post here.  All of us were in awe and Desiree mentioned she didn't want to take it apart!  I wouldn't want to either.  It was that cute!!  Oh and she has more pictures to share from the shower including the cute favors she made and some of the table center pieces. :)

Oh my, haven't written a long post in a while.  If you've made it to the end,  Thank you very much!!  I hope you enjoyed all the pictures even if you didn't read the captions.  {no worries, I know it's pretty long}  LOL!

I haven't played in a challenge for a while, and I found one of my favorites to play in, Flutterby Wednesday's #221 theme is "New".  My card was for a new baby on the way and I used a new image to me.  There is also a fun music theme going on at Saturated Canary challenges.  I googled Butterfly Baby and found this adorable song by Angelina Perete and her daughter called Butterfly Baby!  Nope, I'm not foolin'!  {hehe}  I've never heard of it, but it's so cute and really catchy!!  You have to check it out.  Perfect song for a mommy & daughter theme.  Gonna send it to Mama Desiree and a few of my other friends. :)

Okee dokes my friends, Mahalo for stopping by!!  Have a wonderful Saturday and hope you do something fun!

Hugs,
Leanne

LFF #53 - First card of 2013

Happy Aloha Friday my friends!

Well I made it through the week with flying colors, hope that's just the beginning and that things get even better as we go.  I hope you are all having a great start too.

Today I wanted to share my first official card for 2013.  It's a birthday card I made for one of my co-workers, Maria, who's birthday lands on New Year's Day.  Featuring Melody from Make It Crafty

I absolutely love this line of girls from Make It Crafty!!  Can't wait to practice more on her.  I totally forgot I had to make a card but I already knew that I wanted to use Melody because she reminds me of Maria.  She was already printed out, just needed to add some color.  I chose the colors from the papers behind her but kicked them up a notch.  The layout was something super simple and all the papers are from the same paper pad (MME SixBySix Blink of an Eye) well except for the brown and kraft cardstock which are Neenah and Recollections.   I wanted to put something in her hands so I used my five petal punch and some letter stickers and spelled out YAHOO.  I can already see lots of coloring mistakes, (hehe, no! don't look to closely!) but for the most part am pleased with how it turned out.

We celebrated with a delicious homemade sherbert cake baked by my co-worker Doreen.  Here's a couple pictures of the cake half covered with chocolate dipped strawberries.

My huge piece!  It was really good and one that I'm sure we will have again.

Alrighty my friends, hoping you all have a great weekend.  Make It Crafty! {hahaha!}

Mahalo for stopping by!!
