I'm a...

Hey everyone!!  Guess who's a Sweet November Gal?!  Me!!!  YAY!!!

Yes, you read it right, I was honored to be asked by the amazingly talented Amy Young, to be the Sweet November gal for September!  This terrific line of gorgeous stamps is one of my favorites.  Amy has a style unlike anyone else and when she creates something it's whimsical and beautiful.  I think I've told her a few times how much her images can bring life to any fairy tale story.  Especially the ones she creates.  I would so purchase if she decided to write a series dedicated to all the wonderful Sweet November stamps.  Wouldn't you?  hahaha.. Wishful thinking on my part but a girl can dream right?!  hahaha!

I will be joining not only Amy, but also the talented Nancy Thomas and my FFC buddy, Rachel Schneider, for three fun days of previews for the new line of stamps set to be released in the All That Scraps store on September 8th.  You all know how generous Amy is, so be sure to stop by and comment on all of our blogs for some fun candies starting tomorrow, September 1st.  You can find all the details on Amy's A Thousand Sheets of Paper blog.

Before I take off, I made this card using a few of the cute Fairwees from the August release.  This was a fun one to make and I think it just shows how super sweet and cute this line is.

Fairwees from L to R:  Emaline, Josie, Daphne & Piper
Used patterned paper from DCWV, The Garden Party matstack, to make the clouds, butterflies and grass.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.  I free hand cut the grass and used a white Sakura gel pen to create the fake stitches.  I don't know if you can tell, but I stickled their wings, definitely cuter IRL.

All righty my friends, time for me to get ready for work.  Mahalo for stopping by and remember stop by tomorrow, September 1st, for the first day of SN previews, more surprise news and if I have it ready my b-day candy give-a-way.  Enjoy your day!!  And remember, "Smiles are contagious!" :)
Hugs,
Lilo

Mystery Monday with Scrapperbug2002

Happy Monday everyone!!  Hope you all had a great weekend and are looking forward to this week.  Today over at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog, my DT bud, Tasha, is challenging all of us to case Scrapperbug2002's wonderfully wintry card featuring Miss Snow Anya.

Pretty cool wintry card yea?!  I loved the colors and the fun layout.  And her coloring with Prismas is outstanding!  Great pick this week.  To see what the rest of the DT created for this week's case, pop on over to the FFC blog.  For my share, I made a card trying to follow the layout and also the colors.  I chose a darker blue, but the rest seems to be there.   Here's my case featuing Blush Bonnie.
TGF - Blush Bonnie
The patterned papers are from two separate DCWV stacks.  Colored Bonnie with Copics and yes, I altered her boots to match the boots Miss Snow Anya is wearing.  The key is a die cut from ATS C.C. Cutters Key & Lock.  The sentiment comes with Blush Bonnie and for my card I stacked them.  I also used the splotchy stamp to give it a fun look.

Okay, now it's your turn.  Remember you can either case the card exactly or you can use it as an inspiration piece.  As long as we can see the elements related in the featured card.  You have until Sunday, 12pm CST, to upload you creation to the galleria.  The winner is chosen by random draw and will win a free TGF single stamp of choice, so good luck!
Please post your cards in the TGF Galleria - Home > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Mystery Mondays >Scrapperbug2002.

Mahalo for stopping by!!
Lastly, I just wanted to say "Mahalo" for all the lovely comments you've all been leaving me.   I apologize if I haven't gotten to visit, but it's been so busy for me not only craft wise, but work wise too.   As we all know life outside of blogland can get a bit hectic and there are just not enough hours in the day to get all you want done completed.   I'm trying to concentrate on some projects and hopefully once work slows down I can also get back to visiting you all.   But I want to say Thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives to leave me special messages.   I read each and every one of them and each time I do, it brings me much joy.   Also wanted to let you know I will be random drawing for my Marci & Luka give-away tomorrow, 8/28, so if you haven't left me a comment on this post, do it today!!   Planning a couple of candy give-aways this week.   One for my birthday and the other for my blogaversary.   So look for more details this week.

FFF - Digital Get Down is back!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Today over at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog we are asking you to get dowwwwnnnnn with some digis again.  Hahaha!!  This week's challenge is an easy one.  Use a digital image from The Greeting Farm on your project or card and upload it to the Galleria for a chance to be the lucky winner of a single rubber stamp.   Take a look and get inspired by some awesome digital inspirations from my talented DT partners, click HERE to see them all.

For my share, I had a choice of 4 pre-printed ones.  I chose to go with one of my favorite Wild Sprouts, Dressy Ebony.   I took inspiration from my blogging buddy, Danni, by using her fun layout which you can see HERE.  I just loved the fun papers and layout.  So glad she said it was ok to case her card.  Thank you Danni! :)  I also got inspired by the colors from another blogging buddy, Amy, who created a beautiful card using yellow tones which you can see HERE.  Thank you Amy! :)

The dp is from Jillibean soup, Dutch Mustard.  Loved the color tones here.  I colored Ebony with Copics using only two colors for her hair, (mostly E70, some E71) only giving her a couple highlights.  I used one color for her dress and sweater (E29 and Y08), it's a novelty I know, but I was being lazy.  I don't think it turned out too bad even using 1 color for each article of clothing.  I did add a little bit of eyeshadow to give her a nice evening look.  There's some glitter on her dress, shoes, hair band and the center of the flower in her hair.  She's ready for a party!

The sentiment stamp was another $1 bin purchase from Michael's.  The butterflies are courtesy of my MS punches and the dots in the lower left corner are from Viva Decor pearl pen in Kiwi.

A reminder, to enter the challenge to win a free single of choice just create a card or project using any of the fun digital images from The Greeting Farm.  Upload your photo to the Galleria before 12pm CST next week Thursday.

Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Farm Fresh Fridays 2011> Digital Get Down 2

Well friends, that's all I have today.  Hope you like what you see and that it gives you some inspiration.  There are so many in and around blogland you just have to keep looking.  Mahalo for stopping by, have a wonderful Friday and weekend!!

Hugs,
Lilo

Challenges:
Flutter by Wednesday #168 - Anything goes

A quick Thank you!

Hello everyone!
Just poppin' in real quick to post a simple Thank you card I made this morning.  It's definitely a CAS one and that's what I wanted.  One of our security guards at work who has worked here since I started 8 years ago has decided to retire.  Today is his last day so we are planning to have a small celebration for him.  I wanted to give him something he can keep and hopefully he will realize how much he will be missed.  I had a few of my co-workers sign the inside, I know he will be touched by this.

This card took literally 10 minutes to make!  Woot!  The stamp I purchased from Michael's was from the $1 bin, the dp is one of my favorites from MME, it's a double sided.  The sentiment is stamped on the back of that striped paper.  Used some vintage photo distress ink for the sentiment as well as distressing the edges of the dp.  Love the spellbinder label I picked to create the focal point.  With a fun button and some twine this card was done.  I love these kinds of cards and am so happy when I can accomplish one.  And look no Copics were harmed in the making of this card!  hahaha!!

I really would love to make more of this style of cards.  They are easy to create and are pretty versatile especially with the right sentiment.

Okie dokie, time to split...  I hope you'll stop by later for my Farm Fresh Challenge Friday challenge post, until then Mahalo for stopping by!

Here is a picture of my friend Jovana, Paul (retiree) & Me at the celebration.  It looked like everyone from the Support Center was there.  He is going to be sorely missed.

WHEW!!
Alrighty, for my project I created a wall hanging for Luka.  I spelled out his name for each panel and used 4 of my favorite Lukas (Fisherman Luka, Luka with Truck, Fireman Luka with Tuffy & Cowboy Luka).  The paper, except for the dark brown cs (Neenah), was from the same paper pad, MME's Twinkle, Twinkle Little Boy.  I used the Cricut to cut out the LUKA letters (the font is George and Basic Shapes).  I stamped the wood grain (All Night Media) in Distress Inks Vintage Photo and distressed the edges.  Used the same distress ink to distress the patterned papers.  For the smaller letters I used my Cuttlebug with some Cuttlekids dies.  The panels were all purchased at Big Lots.

Click on Picture for a larger view
Featuring: Fisherman Luka, Luka with Truck, Fireman Luka with Tuffy and Cowboy Luka

There are four panels that I altered, each 6" x 8".  I will now give each panel individual attention.  At the end of each I will list the stamp, Copics and any accessories used.  The basics will be the same:  Ink: Black Memento (Tsukineko); brown cs (Neenah); Distress inks - Vintage Photo; Patterned paper: (MME Twinkle, Twinkle Little Boy), panels (Big Lots).

WOW - All Star - All Boy

Hello Friends!
How are you doing half way to the weekend?  I'm a bit bummed, we lost our playoff game on Monday night and that means no more softball games until the next season.  But I will shake it off for now, because I need to tell you that today over at the FFC blog we are playing with boy colors!!  Now, you don't have to make a boy themed card or even have a boy on it, we just want you to steer your color/paper scheme more towards the male end of the spectrum.  To find out what sort of boy colors the DT came up with to inspire you check out the blog HERE.

I just finished making this card for this post about a minute ago!  Yes that's me, Miss So-last-minute-crafter! Anyone else ever do that?  LOL!!  And this one I just did at work.  Yup another work related card.  The stamp I wanted to use didn't quite go with my theme.  Luckily I have colored TGF images floating around my cubicle.  Makes for a quick and easy card.  So here is my boy colored theme card featuring the adorable Baseball Ian.

I found this quick and fun sketch at Sketches by Carly.  It totally worked for my crunch time card!  I hand wrote all the words in because it was just easier. Alrighty, this is going to be a quick one as I have to head on out to volleyball.

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Boy Colors.

Mahalo for stopping by and come back later for a Birthday blog hop you won't want to miss.  It'll be a "La-La" good time.

Hugs,
Leanne

MM with Tracey P!

Hello friends!   Happy Monday!!  Hope you all had a great weekend.  Mine was pretty good.  Started on Friday with one of my BFFs, Jackie.  We had dinner at Charlie's Trio (Italian restaurant) and then went to watch the movie, Conan the Barbarian.  Dinner was yummy!!  The movie not so good.  I had a feeling it wouldn't be that great, but I had to go and support Jason Momoa.  Poor guy, the editing was really bad.  The story was so choppy.  I hope there is an extended version, because there were some scenes that were badly put together.  I'm hoping his next movie with Sylvester Stallone is much better.  The rest of my weekend was spent working on projects for this week.

This week over at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog we have another card to case.  Our team captain Rachel is this week's host and she picked a good one!  You'll probably recognize our MM "host" this week because it's TGF's very own Farmer...TraceyP ;0)   Rachel has had this card on her list to use for MM for awhile and then she up and made the DT, but she still wanted to use it because it's just sooooo adorable!  Don't you think so too?

I have to say, I completely agree with Rachel.  Tracey did an amazing job with this card and I'm so glad we got a chance to case her.  For more lovely inspirations check out the Farm Fresh Challenge blog, who knows there might be a familiar face there that hasn't played in a while.

For my card I went with a similar layout.  This time I didn't have any problems with the window.  Lesson learned.  hehe...  I made a birthday card using Amelia from the TGF O&A Just for You set.   The dp is from DCWVs Nana's Kitchen Matstack.  I just love this stack.  So many wonderful glittery pages and lovely designs to choose from.

The balloons and swirls are from the C.C. Designs cutters from ATS.  I colored those with Copics.  The blue glitter dots are Viva Glitter Liner in Sapphire.  The cupcakes are a border punch from EK Success.  The stars are punches from Marvy Uchida and the sentiment is from the same O&A Just for You set.   Used stickles all over the card.  Especially on Amelia's outfit.

The cupcakes also have crystal lacquer on them, they look like chocolate ganache.  If you look closely you'll see some cupcakes stamped on the kraft cs.  The stamp is a stubby from Stamps by Judith.

I used embroidery floss in white on the bottom and you might see some of my fake stitching.  Ya, my sewing isn't too straight, so it's just easier for me to fake them.  There you have it, let me know what you think.

Alrighty my friends, it's time for you to get your creative juices flowing and figure out how you want to case Tracey's card.  Remember you can either case the card exactly (layout, etc...) or you can use it as an inspiration, as long as we can see that you used the MM card as your reference you are eligible for the prize.

The Mystery Monday contest runs until Sunday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and will win a free TGF single stamp of choice, so good luck!   Please post your cards in the TGF Galleria - Home > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Mystery Mondays > TraceyP.

Mahalo for stopping by and hope you have a great Monday!!

Buttons please!!

Happy Friday!!!  Yay, the end of the week is finally here.  Whew, what a work week for me, lots of stuff going on and I'm so happy that it's Friday!  Taking my friend out to dinner for her birthday tonight and then we are going to see the new Conan the Barbarian movie because we both love Jason Mamoa!  Who knows if the movie will be good, it will be good to see him in a loincloth! LOL!!  Anyhoos, would love to hear what you have planned for tonight or even the weekend.

Today we have another fun challenge over at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog.  Yippee!!!  All you have to do is use buttons on your card or project.  For more inspiration please hop on over to the FFC blog and feast your eyes on some gorgeous creations by the DT.

For my share I used Tink from the new Fairy Princess clear stamps set and made a book mark.  Wow, these are the cutest stamps.  They are smaller than the normal TGF stamps, and if you can believe it they stamp so well!  You definitely have to pick up this set to experience how well they stamp.  Just as good as the red rubber.  To find out more & to see some awesome creations check out the TGF blog. To purchase this stamp set and the other cute Bantastic clear stamp set head on over to the store.

Beware of glitter it can be addicting!!!  So, I used Tink, the mushrooms and the sentiment "Fairy Dust is a Must" for my bookmark.

Not sure if you can tell in this picture how much glitter there is.  I went a bit crazy with the Stickles as you'll see in the next few pictures..  I'm so pleased with the results.  Here are some close up pictures and hopefully you can see the glitter

I stickled the outline of the clouds.  The centers on the butterflies have Viva pearl pen in cream and I used a Copic marker to color it yellow.  The button is from a BG set I got at Big Lots and the ribbon I used to tie it is a recycled piece from a shirt I altered.  Anyone else use clothing scraps for their projects?  hehe...

I think in this picture you can see more of the glitter on the clouds and some fairy dust coming behind her.  I think I like this next picture the best.  Here is what the bottom of the BM looks like up close.

I found these two very tiny buttons and created this scene below.  Had to Stickle the bottom because of the cute sentiment.  Looks like fairy dust all over the place!  I think it gives it a whimsical feel.  (hehe)  Lastly, since I wrapped the ribbon around the outer part of the BM, I added some kraft paper and stamped more cute images of Tink flying and kept it simple by not coloring them in, just added some distress to the edges and a couple punched flowers.

Ok my friends, it is now your turn to use a button on your creation and then you need to upload it to the Gallery for a chance to win a single stamp of your choice.   You have until Thursday before 12pm CST to be eligible.

Mahalo for your support and heart-warming comments.  Have a fairy wonderful weekend!!
Hugs,
Leanne

W.O.W. Photo inpsiration #3

Hello Friends,
Hope you are all having a great week.  It's half-way to the weekend and I'm pretty excited about it.  Don't have much planned, except catching up on some projects.  Hopefully it will be very productive.  What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Today over at the Farm Fresh challenge blog we have a new challenge.  This week is a photo inspiration.  Here is the picture and we want you to find your inspiration in it.   Don't forget to stop by the FFC blog to see what wonderful and inspirational cards and projects the DT created.

Photo inspiration #3

Doesn't this room look bright and fun?  I love the colors and all the whites.  I chose the colors, the flowers and the nightstand for my share.  I went to SCS to find a tutorial on how to make a drawer box.  I found this one called Santa drawers by Brenda.  I sorta struggled with the dimensions, but all in all it worked out.  This is my first drawer box and it is by no means perfect, but I like the first attempt.  Will definitely keep practicing.
Side view
Top view

I used flowers, hardware from SU and ribbons for the "knobs" on the drawers.  Stamped O&A "Just for You" sentiment on top of the drawer and added the same colored ribbons around to knot at the top.   Why?  Well because I made an easel card and needed it to be the stopper for the card.  Ta-da

Here is a close up of the card featuring a combo of Lolli Anya and HG Snuggle, both retired images.  I've always wanted to do this combo, love how she looks.  The sentiment is from the O&A My Fav Things (Happy Day)
Combo of Lolli Anya & HG Snuggle

Alrighty friends, it's that time.  Time for you to try your hand at creating a card or project using the photo inspiration.  Remember to incorporate any of The Greeting Farm images to qualify for the prize which is a digital image of choice.

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.
Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Photo 3

What are you waiting for?!!! hehehe..
Mahalo for stopping by.  You all make my day with your lovely comments.

Hugs,
Lilo

Mystery Monday with Rimna!!

Happy Monday fabulous friends!

Hope everyone had a great weekend, feeling refreshed and ready for some fun challenges this week.  Today of course is Mystery Monday at the FFC blog and our host this week is my talented friend, 1LuvnMama.  She chose this fantastic card to case by a fellow TGF Farmer from the last team, Rimna

Love this card, so elegant and vintage.  I decided to play as close to it as possible switching out a few of the elements.

I picked CC Piper for my card and used E40 & 41 to outline her, for her eyes I used B23.  The papers are all scraps from various DCWV stacks.  Used broken china and weathered wood to distress parts of the papers and also to stamp the splotchys.  The sentiments are from two different stamps from the Roll Call kit.  Punched out two MS butterflies and stamped and distressed them with a Stampendous stamp & broken china distress inks.   Okie dokie, your turn!

Don't forget! You now have two ways to play! You can either CASE the card OR you can use it as an inspiration piece. Meaning that you can make the same style of card, use the same colors, etc, just as long as we can tell that you got your ideas from the showcased card.

The Mystery Monday contest runs until Sunday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.

The winner is chosen by random draw and will win a free TGF single stamp of choice, so good luck!

Please post your cards in the TGF Galleria - Home > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Mystery Mondays > Rimna

Mahalo for stopping by and don't forget to have a great day!

Hugs,
Lilo
