For my card I am debuting the ever so cute and in my opinion, long-awaited, SURFER ANYA! So what's new on my card?
  • Surfer Anya
  • Designer paper
  • Surf board stickers
  • The sentiment, yes, it is from the old Anya Says stamps set, however it's the first time I've ever used it.  So that counts.  {hehe}

Diva Jesalyn

Happy Sunday everyone! Today's share is featuring another La-La Land Crafts image. Isn't she fabulous? Her name is Jesalyn and she is the newest addition not only to the La-La Land Crafts family, but also the latest to our Girlfriend Collection.
I used Jesalyn to make a birthday card for my co-worker, Patty. Patty also happens to be my Zumba instructor at work and I think she's just fabulous! She's always working out and never misses a day. She's such an awesome role model and so down to earth. I wanted to give her a card that reflected her personality of femininity & confidence I just needed that perfect image. When Irina & Eric first debuted Jesalyn as a digi, my feet did a happy dance. She's sassy and confident, yet you can tell she's very feminine. She was PERFECT for what I had in mind. I went really simple with the layout as well as the colors. Love how the turquoise pops on her dress! The little bits of red give it that fun flare. I saw this layout from fellow DT, Kim Yu's post, (which also happens to debut Miss Jesalyn) and thought it would definitely work for my card with a bit of tweaking. Thanks Kim for the inspiration!

After I dropped it off at Patty's desk, I received an email from her. It said:
" Thank you thank you thank you!!! I want to be a DIVA!!!! The card and your wishes are so beautiful.... ~Patty" Aw, I'm glad it made her day extra special. I told her she was a DIVA in my book. :)

Don't forget you can purchase Jesalyn along with all of our wonderful images in digital or in rubber formats at the La-La Land store. We'd love to see any creations you have made with our wonderful images. All you have to do is upload them to our Customer gallery. What are you waiting for? :)

Mahalo for stopping by today! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!
Hugs,
Leanne

HAPPY SunDAY!

Happy Sunday everyone! My share today is a card I made for the CA&F Saturday Sketch that has been hosted by the awesome "sketch" artist, Jen Shults. I'm so sad that it's her last sketch for CA&F because she has so many awesome layouts & ideas. I wanted to play along and choosing a stamp was easy. Spring is in the air, and that means Easter must be around the corner. What better way to represent Easter than with the adorable Easter Anya? I chose to go green with this one with touches of aqua and pink. The paper is from one of my favorite DCWV paper pads, Linen Closet. Using Jen's sketch this card came together pretty quickly.

I sprinkled some tiny pearls, that I colored using a Copic marker. Did you notice the eggs on the card? No not the ones in her basket, there are 3 just floating around the corners. hehehe.. I used a small punch to make those. The sentiment is from the OA Happy Day set. I think no matter where this cutie lands she will brighten up any card or project. Here is a side view as well as what I did on the inside:

Okie dokie, that's all for now. Stay tuned for my latest post for La-La Land Crafts. It's gonna be diva-licious... hahaha... Happy Sunday my friends! Until next time, Mahalo for stopping by! Hugs, Leanne

Make a Wish

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all have been having a good week. It's been some kind of weird weather we are having here in "sunny" California.. hahaha.. It's been raining, then sunny, with more rain and more sun. Let's just say I've been dressing for rain even if the sun is out. hahaha..
This is a card I started to make Wednesday night while chatting online with some fabulous FB wahines. (It was a lot of fun crafting and chatting with them. I look forward to many more late nights of that.) I made this card for one of my besties. Her birthday was at the begining of the month and I was finally able to give it to her in person over some yummy Thai food. This is an older digital Anime collection image from Instyle stamps. Her name is Mellie. I colored her with colored pencils and used Copics to color in her skin. I made a boo-boo with her hair but didn't want that to deter me from using her anyways. I paired her up with some beautiful paper from MME and used a couple Spellbinders for the hand written sentiment. I really need to use more of these cute images.

Alrighty, that's all for now. Looking forward to more crafting and chatting on FB. But for now back to work. Have a wonderful Friday and Mahalo for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Justin!

Happy Saturday!
Today's share is the one I collaborated on with my co-worker. She asked me to make her a special card for her husband's birthday, but it wasn't special because of his age, it was special because of the card itself. It was to be inside a CD case! I thought it was a great idea! She asked me to include some fun paper I had used in a previous card as well as 3 images that would represent her husband, her dog Sherlock & herself.
I used 2 images from The Greeting Farm and 1 from C.C. Designs. The balloons are one of the new dies from ATS. I love it! She asked me to make it look as if Sherlock was floating away. I think I accomplished that. :) Here are several images of each side.

And the finished project

Had a lot of fun putting this one together. I want to thank my co-worker for asking me to make this for her. Thanks Carol!! :)
Alrighty, I'm done for now. Have a great evening!!
Hugs,
Leanne

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Sorry for the late post, but I wasn't expecting to make a card. Deciding at the very last minute to get into the spirit of it, I decided to make one. I was lucky enough to have a stamped image of Winter Marci who was perfect for my card. I used Copics to color her face (I only had skin and blush colors with me) and the rest was colored with pencils. It had been quite some time since I used colored pencils (as you can tell) so I was having fun with them. I didn't have too much card wise, so kept it within three colors. Black, green & some white. I had a 5-petal punch at work and some SU stamps and luckily some green ink. (score!) Randomly stamped some green and white paper then punched them out. Went with a rainbow design for those flowers. I chose to cut around the rainbow of green and white flowers to give the card a different fun look. Punched out more green flowers and cut one side into a stem to look like 4-leaf clovers. I used the same green ink to smudge the edges. (Wish you could see the shimmer from the ink, I believe I used a Brilliance one, looks pretty cool.) Used another strip of green and cut it into a little hill and smudged the edges as well. Scattered the clovers on the hill and some around Marci and ta-da!

Don't forget you can purchase this cutie as well as any of the new images at the La-La Land Crafts store here. Okie dokie people, Bones is on so I gots to go!!!! hahaha.. Hoping to post a really cool card I made for my co-worker's husband. She and I collaborated on it. She came up with the idea and I designed it.
Hope you had a great St. Paddy's Day! :)

Here's an Irish blessing for you:

Irish Blessings to my ohana and friends
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back...
May the sun shine warm upon your face...
the rains fall soft upon our fields...
...and, until, we meet again...
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Happy St. Paddy's day!
Hope you're wearing green!!!

Leanne

All About Family

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today's share is another La-La Land Crafts card featuring not 1, not 2, but 3 of the cute kids from La-La Land. I started out testing the hair color combination with Fancy Dress Marci so I hadn't stamped her whole image. I really liked how the hair turned out so decided to keep the image and colored the rest of her in then trimmed it. While I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with her an idea popped into my head. Why not use a few more images in the same manner? And that was how this card was born. I chose to go with Luka with Truck & Winter Marci.
After coloring them up I thought they looked like brothers & sisters so I "tied" them together with the hand-written sentiment, All About Family. Kept the rest of the card simple with more subtle paper from a K&Company paper pack, a few buttons, a few punched leaves and Voila!

Don't forget, the new Play Time Collection is now available in rubber! You can also purchase these three cuties in either rubber or digital form at the La-La Land Crafts store.

We'd love to see what you create with any of the darling images so don't forget to upload them to our Customer Gallery.

Enjoy the rest of your day and Mahalo for stopping by!

Cowboys & Cowgirls

{This is my second post, scroll down to see the cowboy card I made} :)
I made these fun decorations for my co-worker's son's birthday party. (Yes his card is the one I just posted) I colored up Sheriff Ian and Wild West Anya with Copics. To save time and make things a lot easier for me as well as save some ink I colored each of the images one time then printed them in color on some white card stock. The color is slightly different then the original, but they looked very close, so I was happy with the result. Going simple with the design I cut them up into rectangles and then rounded the edges out with a corner punch. Next I sponged the edges all the way around with brown ink. (Yes I do this a lot, but I love it) A simple knot with twine is all I added to the corners. My co-worker is going to use these to decorate some pixie stix she's giving out to the kids. Any left overs she's going to use as decorations.
Using the same images I blew them up to about 4 1/2" and cut them out. My co-worker will be using them to decorate two vases of flowers she is using for table decorations.
Alrighty, I'm outie!
Hugs,
Leanne

A New Sheriff in Town

Before I share my card for today I want to take a moment to send out prayers to the people of Japan & New Zealand (suffered from last month's earthquake). The devastation they endured is so heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers are with them, their families & friends. My co-worker's son is turning 3 tomorrow. She is having a cowboy themed birthday party for him today. I was so excited about that. I have been wanting to make a little boy card for sometime now. Couldn't wait to make a cowboy themed card and knew just which stamp I wanted to use. He's an oldie but a goodie in my book, his name is Sheriff Ian and he's the new sheriff in town. :) Paper pieced his bandana around his neck and the one around his cowboy hat. Used Copics to color in his outfit as well as to give the background an old vintage look. The star is a stamp from the cowboy set I purchased a few years ago from the Cat's Pajama's. Can you believe this is the first time I've inked it up? I'm going to have to make time to play with that set, yea after I finish all the other projects I want to do. hahaha! I'm not sure if you can tell, but I diamond glazed the star as well as the belt buckle. Before diamond glazing the belt buckle I colored it with a silver sparkle pen. The "P" is the first initial of my co-worker's son's name.

This sentiment is another stamp from the same cowboy stamp set. I thought it was perfect for this card. Can you guess where I got my title for the card from? hehehe, yep it was just that simple. :) Love it when things just fall in to place when I'm not looking. (hehe) I kept it all boy with a few birthday pieces thrown in. (Like the balloons and glitter) The papers I used are from a DCWV paper pad called, Twinkle Twinkle Little Boy. I just love this paper. It's all boy with stars, plaids and polka dots in cool boy colors. :)
I pulled out my Cricut to cut out the big stars, used a star punch for the smaller star and a Cuttlebug die to cut out the "3". The balloons and squiggles are dies from ATS. Through out the card I sponged the edges to soften up the paper. The last fun thing I added was the twine. I just tied a simple knot and it was done.
Okie dokie, that's all I have for now. Hope you have an enjoyable Saturday evening. Don't forget to set your clocks to "Spring" forward before you go to bed tonight. Oh, and I'll have my La-La Land Crafts post tomorrow. Mahalo for stopping by!
Hugs,
Leanne

Hats off to ya!

Woot! Almost Friday and almost the weekend. I can't wait. Need a break from work and all this waking up too early. hahaha.. Hope you are all having a great week, but anticipating the weekend. It's also been really beautiful weather over here. I think today it was in the high 70's if not 80's. Sorry to my friends in the East, I don't mean to rub it in that we are enjoying some wonderful spring weather. Sending you all warm wishes for a Spring time thaw!
Tonight I wanted to share this card I made for my co-worker's, Flor, birthday. I have been wanting to play with the fairly new Miss Anya's Hats off stamps set from The Greeting Farm since I received them, but hadn't had a chance to debut any of them until today. YAY! I just love this new set, Marie did good. hahaha
I used the Miss Anya that was sitting. I colored her up with Copics and went with some peaches, red/orangey tones and black. The dp is from the DCWV set called Mariposa. I just love the vibrant and beautiful papers in this set. Isn't she awesome? I also used a sheet of red from a Pink Paislee 365 degrees paper pad.
If the layout looks familiar, it is. I just used it on my last card and the sketch is from A sketch for you to try. I was inspired after I saw TGF DT gal Jen Shults' gorgeous card.
If you look around you will see I scattered some tiny pearls around the card. That was inspired by the talented Amy Young. She uses that technique on her cards and I think it's just so pretty. I also scattered some butterflies. The butterfly border punch is from EK. You can't tell but I raised some of the butterflies to give it dimension. (You can kind of tell in the picture above.) To soften the edges of the dp, I sponged them with some brown ink. I think it gives a cool look to the paper. I can't remember where the flower is from because I purchased it a long time ago and threw away the wrapper. The black flower on top is from a MS punch and the brad in the center is a silver baby button brad with a pearl on top. The sentiment is from the Invitations stamps set from Inkadinkado. The card itself is light peach Tsugumi cs from Hanko Designs.

Well that's all I have for now. I'm heading to bed in a few. I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend. Mahalo for stopping by!
Hugs,
Leanne

Create Ur Possibility

Happy Monday peeps! Today I wanted to share a card I made with some scraps, a cute colored up Oliver from The Greeting Farm and a message. Oliver just happened to be hangin' around my computer, (literally).. hahaha.. The only reason I made this card was because it was my friend's last day at work. He had stopped by in the morning to give me a present. It was an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of blue paper from a project we had worked on. He said he wanted to give it back to me because he had no use for it. I told him I had a whole ream of it and that he should keep it. He said he didn't need it and proceeded to toss it into my trash bin! I grabbed it out real quik telling him, that paper is expensive! hahaha.. He thought I was crazy, but hey, colored paper is expensive right? So what did I do? I decided to make him a card with that very same paper to show him that u create ur own possibilities, you just had to be creative. I made this at work, but I'm lucky enough to have a limited supply of stamps and inks here. I also have tons of scrap paper.
Him being a guy I wanted to keep it simple, but I wanted to use the full sheet of paper cause remember I had a point to make (therefore another easel card was born). I tore the edges of some kraft & dark brown cs, then inked the edges with some brown ink. Also stamped a bunch of Ks (no, his name doesn't start with a K, but he has a klothing kompany that does). I hand wrote the two sentiments on the front of the card as well as the one on the inside of the card. Can you tell what I did with the orange paper? Yup, I cut them in to 2 Ks and placed them back to back. Why? Because that's how the name of his brand is written. Yes I know, too much thinking leads Lilo to do crazy things.. hahaha.. But it's all good. The sentiment inside reads, "create ur possibility" I wanted to let him know that anything is possible, it's what you make of it that counts. We laughed about the paper issue, but most importantly he was very touched by my words and that's all that counts. :)
Ok, Mahalo for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful evening!!
Hugs,
Leanne
