Easter Fun

Morning and Happy Saturday!
Hope you are all having a great morning.. I'm getting ready to head out in the rain to Michael's to buy some wooden letters for a project.. Hope I don't spend too much $$ or get distracted from my goal with other fun crafty stuff. :/
Wanted to share the card I just finished before I'm off to run errands...
Just got Easter Anya in the mail last week and have been wanting to ink her up, so here's what I ended up with:

I was cleaning up my crafts supplies at work (yes I have a craft supply box at work who doesn't?;]) and found some paper I could use for Easter or spring cards.. I grabbed this stripey "Spring" colored one and paired it with a turqouise cardstock. I dry embossed the turquoise cs and added some white butterflies. Added a dark pink ribbon and punched out some grass on the bottom, sponging the lower grass to make it contrast from the upper grass.

For the main focus, I stamped Easter Anya and cut her out in an oval shape, Easter theme here, and then colored her up with dark pinks, light pinks and brown for her hair.. I wet embossed her bunny ears, hairband, shoes, eggs and the basket. I love the glossy look on the basket and eggs.. Hopefully you can see it too. I was trying to create a subtle shadow around her but messed up. Trying to salvage it, ended up coloring in the whole oval, I actually like the end result.. A fun bright card..
Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to Michael's for some supplies.. Hope you have a wonderful Saturday.. Aloha!

WCW - Thankful Anya

Good morning and Happy Thursday.. I hope you're having a great morning so far. =) First off I just wanted to say, "Thank you" for all the commments you've been leaving on my blog.. I appreciate all of them so much especially because I consider all of you the creme of the crop in this world we call crafting.. Mahalo!!
Now on to today's card:
TGF CA&F is having another awesome WCW challenge.. Today's WCW challenge is brought to you a la Jess and your challenge is to EMBOSS IT!
RULES:
Use any kind of embossing-dry, wet, whatevah! Just show us how you EMBOSS IT! and use a qualifying CA&F stamp :)

Upload your card to the TgF Galleria>Club Anya and Friends>Contests/Challenges>WCW>Emboss IT!
Make sure you check out all the great cards/ideas that the rest of TGF CA&F DT and land have come up with.. I have and can't wait to see the rest. :)

I love embossing, whether it's dry or wet so this was a great challenge. :)
I call this one, "Thankful Anya" only because I couldn't think of a clever name, any suggestions? ;)

I used Dress Me Anya and slightly altered her. Cutting a lot of her hair off and making it into a short "bob" was perfect for what I wanted.
The brown card is dry embossed with small dots; the red part of the frame is stamped with a rose flower and over the top of it I used a sheet of PTP (pink translucent paper) which I also dry embossed with two roses.

For her dress I stamped it twice, once on white paper and next on the PTP. I used Rose Red to color in the white top part and center panel of her dress and added some small designs to the side panels. Using a versamark pen & some clear embossing powder to the PTP, I wet embossed the top part of her dress and also the small designs on the side panels of her dress then cut the center panel of the PTP to show off the red rose on the bottom of her dress. Hopefully it looks like a gossamer layer over the bottom dress.. haha

I also used the same technique on Anya's eyeshadow, hairband and the sentiment. The same technique used on the dress is mirrored on the sentiment.
Here is the finished Anya:

For added shimmer to the PTP, I brushed on some pearlescent orchid with a sponge.. Adding the giant bow to the top finished this card off..

Whew! Sorry wasn't expecting such a long one today... Well that's all for now... Thanks so much for stopping by and hoping you have a great day. Until next time.. Aloha!

Supplies:
Stamps: Anya (TGF Dress Me set); Rose (S/U - 5th Ave set); Sentiment (Studio G)
Punches/Embossing folder: Circle punches (S/U) Top note (Sizzix die cut - S/U);
Paper: Firehearts (Bazzil cardstock); dark brown card stock for card; white card stock for sentiment and frame of top note; pink translucent paper for the embossed Manhattan flower on top.
Embossing technique used: Manhattan flower embossing folder (Sizzix big shot - S/U); Small dots (Cuttlebug); clear embossing powder
Markers/Ink: Versamark pen; Copics; Tuxedo black ink (Memento); Rich Cocoa (Memento - background sentiment); Pearlescent Orchid (Brilliance - translucent sentiment)
Accessory: Giant brown bow

Monday Mania - Golden Anya

Good morning and Happy Tuesday.. CA&F over at The Greeting Farm is having another Monday Mania challenge. This week's guest challenge is by Angela Knopf (http://www.inkybutton.com/) and it's called "Got Mono?" No it's not what you think... Yep, it's time for a monochromatic challenge! Take your favorite image and give it some one-color love. Feeling Blue? Tickled Pink? Makes no difference, just make sure you create a card or project using one color family.
I inked up Lolli Anya for my card and used shades of yellow. Golden yellow, soft yellow, bright yellow and cut this cool dp that was shades of all 3 yellows into a flower. Inked up and embossed one side of the card with my roller stamp and used a couple smaller stamps on the other side. I added some bling to her pony tail holders and I paper pieced her bows, dress and shoes.. And if you look very closely you can see that she's been licking her lollipop because her tongue is the same color! >.<

Off to get ready to go to work.. Thanks for looking! Have a great Tuesday! ;)
Supplies:
Stamps: Lolli Anya (TGF); Sentiment & candy (Studio G clear stamps); Petals (Stampin Up)
Paper: cardstock pollen & dessert marigold (Bazzil); dp (Marcella K - Lemon Drop)
Ink & Markers: tuxedo black (Memento); Canary (Color Box) Copics
Punches: Scallop oval, small oval (S/U); Large 5-petal flower (Nestabilities)
Ribbon: Golden Yellow w/ white stitches
Bling: Yellow rhinestones (Studio18 - got these in the $1 bin at Michaels)

Another St. Paddy's Day Card

Hope you're having a great Monday nite. The weekend was just too short! Hope everyone enjoyed it.
I had some scrap paper left over from the last St. Patrick's Day card so decided to use it up by making a 4x4 card. I used another of the Instyle stamps, Katsu, because he's just too cute and was perfect for what I wanted to add to this card. Plus I got to work on my coloring..
Since he's a orange headed little boy he had to have freckles... =) I did 4 more shamrocks using a larger sized 5 petal punch, then trimmed down one of the petals into a stem. I was trying to go for Hazel eyes, but they are just a lighter shade of green.. Using the same green dp and yellow really framed him out..

I plan to figure out my next card, who knows it might be another green card.. haha.. Have a good one and thanks for stopping to look. Hugs! ;)

Inside of "Watching Over You"

Hello, I wanted to say Thank you for your kind words and prayers for my friends. It's amazing how a kind word or thought can make an impact.
I spent today with them along with a few other friends to lend support and just to be there for them.. They are doing fairly well, actually better than what I expected. They are both holding up with the love of family and friends. Thank you so much for your positive thoughts, I know it will help a lot. =)

I wanted to share what I did for the inside of the card.. I was practicing my coloring with one of my new stamps, Hiroki from Instyle. This stamp is so cute, I wasn't even planning to use him, until today... I colored him similar to Jet but with more details on the hair and his face. I wanted to practice and this stamp was perfect for that. It just happened to be perfect for the inside of my card as well. I added the same wings but embossed them with silver powder and drew in the halo with Versamark and embossed with the same silver powder. My caption ties the front of the card together and explains the theme of the card. To the right of it I cut down some of the dp I used for the front of the card and wrote in a personal message. My friend was very moved when she saw the card and it made my heart a little lighter to see the smile on her face.

Here is a close up of Hiroki.. I absolutely adore him.... and he made a terrific Angel explaining the scene on the front of the card.

Thanks for looking and again a big Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.. They truly help... Hugs, Leanne

A little St Paddy's Day cheer

It's late Saturday night and watching the Olympics (Go Apolo!) in between making this card.. I couldn't decide on the giant flower nor on the haircolor. Finally decided on this as the final...
I punched the little shamrocks from a flower punch (5-petal) and cut down one of the petals into the stem.. Used yellows and greens with a "pow" of reddish orange as the final for the haircolor. I love this stamp, Lizzie from Instyle, and even though she's not as big as the giant flower, I think she holds her own... Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies:
Stamp: Lizzie (Instyle)
Card & Frame: Pollen (Bazzil cardstock); frame is argyle embossed (Cuttlebug)
Dp: Greens design (Making Memories)
Punches: Small 5 petal flower (Marvy), photo corners (EK)
Ink & Markers used: Tuxedo black (Memento); white gel pen (Sakura) & Copics
Giant flower: 5-petal flower iron-on patch (JoAnn Craft Essentials)

WCW paper piecing

Today's WCW challenge at TGF's CA&F is submitted by Pam. Her challenge is to use paper piecing in the project. Check out her sample on the Club Anya & Friends blog: http://clubanya.blogspot.com/2010/02/wcw-and-little-paper-piecing.html
Here is what I came up with:

I used Angel Anya without the halo. Using brown cs as the card, I layered blue (blind date) bazzil paper which I embossed with the swirls embossing folder (cuttlebug). I used two different dp from me&my big ideas modern milan paper pad. I paper pieced in the orange and white the bow and the dress, I used the same dp (which is framed by the same brown cardstock) for the framing of Anya. Using the yellow/orange/baby blue designed paper I paper pieced her wings and used a 2" strip of the same for the horizontal border. I wrapped a baby blue chiffon ribbon around the center and adhered Anya to the center of the card with mounting tape. For the Sentiment I used the same yellow/orange/baby blue paper and stamped, "Wishing you..." in brown. The DP were actually scraps I had left over from another card. I used Copics to color her hair face and touch of blush and eyeshadow..
This was a fun card to make and I really love the result.. Thanks for looking! =)

Retro Valentine

The last card I call Retro Valentine.. Blue card from Hanko Designs, white card stock frames the DP from SU, light blue ribbon, image used is WS Stella from TGF. I used the not traditional blue as accents for this card to match the DP. Sentiment is from Studio G clear stamp. She's sassy and waiting for her Valentine..
Thanks for stopping by!

Wild about you 2

This 2nd Wild about you card features Sayuri w/ Bear from C.C. Designs Presents Chubby Pencil stamp. I just love this image, it's sooo sweet and just perfect for this Vday card. Pink card, DP from SU and trimmed with SU edge punch. Pink cardstock embossed with swirls (cuttlebug); light pink w/ white piping ribbon, sentiment from SU as well.. I hope you like it as much as I do.. =)

Wild about you 1

Wild about you 1 - The Princess & the Frog
Same set up as Happy Vday roses but different. White card, with pink cardstock enbossed with swirl image (cuttlebug). DP trimmed with border image is from SU, stamp is from TGF Twinkle Tots series (Princess Ava) colored with Copics and crown and slippers are glittered. Sentiment is from SU as well. Little pink and white piping ribbon round it out. I'm happy with the result. =)

More Valentine's Day cards

Here are the rest of the cards I made last week.. I used 2 images from TGF and 3 from CC Designs.. I had a lot of fun making these and using the new stamps.. Thanks for looking...
First up...Happy Vday Roses:

Used CC Designs Rosalie with Roses for this one and tried to keep it simple. The sentiment is from Stampin Up, polka dot dp is also from SU. Pink card (regular cardstock) and white cardstock cut out with SU top note die cut. Brown with pink piping ribbon for a little accent and two red hearts. Colored with Copics.
TFL!

Tuesday Catch up

Hi, I'm back to update with some Valentine's Day cards I made.. But first off I missed submitting my card for last week's CA&F WCW challenge: Kim's Redwork. "The real inspiration is the red and white combo, the clean and simple effect this creates..." Check out the TGF CA&F blog for her amazing samples.. (http://clubanya.blogspot.com/2010/02/wild-card-wednesday-redwork-inspired.html).
It didn't qualify for the WCW challenge, but I wanted to make a card using the red & white theme. I absolutely love how it turned out. I heat set clear embossing powder to her clothing and shoes, but kept everything else simple. Used a white card and added a red & white polka dot paper to frame out the images. Incorporated some left over red & white scrap paper (2x2.5)for the "base" around Grace (TGF stamp) and embossed all 4 pieces with 4 different cuttlebug images (swirls, small polka dots, argyle & hearts.) I used Copic R59, cardinal to color in her clothes and shoes.. I outlined some parts with a white Sakura gel pen, including adding white shoe laces. Can you tell? I framed the main image of Grace with 2 white & 2 red photo corners using a red Sakura gel pen to add in polka dots to the white corners. Lastly I added a red with white piping ribbon to her head, cutting slits on the outer sides of her hair and tucking them in. She looks so cute!
I love the image it created. This was fun and I think I will incorporate more REDWORK into more projects. Thanks for looking..

Rachel's Challenge

Hello and Happy President's Day!
TGF's CA&F was hosting another great challenge this time for Monday Mania issued by Rachel (http://papercraftingplace.blogspot.com). Her challenge was to create a Valentine's Day card or project without using PINK or RED! Now as we all know those are the trademark colors for Valentine's Day.. Well I loved the challenge and had this simple card in mind.. Using my new embossing folder just added that extra special "Valentine's day" theme to the card. I'm really happy and very surprised to say Rachel chose my sweet card as the winner.. Thanks again Rachel!
Well hoping your day is fabulous!
Hugs,
Leanne

Valentine Roses

For the second card, I used CC Designs Swiss Miss Rosalie with roses... She is so sweet that I didn't do too much to this card except layer some simple card stock and a subtle, at least I think it is, valentine's scrap dp.

Colors were simply pink, black, white, gray and some red. Sorry I can't remember what colored copics I used to color Miss Rosalie, but they were shades of pink, black, gray and red with white sakura gel pen. Nor can I remember the name of the hearts dp.. As for the rest, I used the two Stampin up tag punches. Stampin up stamp for the sentiment. Dark pink ribbon for the tag, A light pink with dark pink thread ribbon, & white heart brad. I also used a white card, black card stock, gray card stock, fusia card stock and white card stock that was embossed with the small dots cuttlebug embossing folder. I diamond glazed the roses, but it's kinda hard to tell.. Thank you for stopping by to check out my latest projects.. Have a great Saturday morning!

Valentine's Day

Just before leaving for vacation, I made two more Valentine's day cards.
This first card I used the TGF Digi My guy Ian (Autumn) and Rain Anya TGF stamp. I paired it with some old Valentine's Day paper scraps. I used a Happy Valentine's Day stamp from Stampin Up. Colors used were shades of Red and Brown.. And the heart border punch is from Ms. Martha Stewart.

Thanks for looking..

I'm back from vacation and back to crafting... Whoo hoo! I really missed my stamps and markers and all of you..
Here is the latest card I just finished tonight/this morning...

There is a great color challenge over at the TGF website. The colors chosen were purple and green.
I used some old DP from Paper Pizazz called Purple Happiness and paired it up with different Bazzil papers of purples and greens. I also used Flutter Anya from TGF to complete the card. I incorporated the TGF FFF Mercy's 2-5 sketch, but submitted this card to the purple and green challenge.. Thanks for looking..
